Hungary’s pro-Orbán TV channel apologized for years of lying

“Public media cannot lie. We apologize for having done so for many years,” read a message broadcast by the state television channel M1.

The channel also suspended its news broadcast.

This came after a change in the leadership of the public media holding MTVA. The new management launched a reform of the state media, promising to make them independent.

Kossuth Radio replaced its news programming with classical music, while the websites of the public media temporarily went offline.

Prime Minister Péter Magyar said that the era of state propaganda had come to an end.

La BBC tiene una página donde puedes ver cómo se van armando los cruces del Mundial 2026 conforme avanzan los partidos. Sin drama, sin "última hora". Solo el cuadro, actualizado, con el camino posible de cada selección. Parece un detalle menor. No lo es.

🚨 WATCH: A paraglider gets hit by a Cessna 172 near the Austrian town of Zell am See.

The paraglider was able to pull her rescue parachute and land safely shortly after the incident on Saturday.

According to police, the 44-year-old Austrian had started from Schmittenhöhe in the direction of Piesendorf. Above the Pinzgauer Hütte, she collided at 1:15 p.m. with the Cessna piloted by a 28-year-old.

The pilot of the Cessna, which flew from the Glemm Valley in the direction of Zell am See, was able to land the aircraft safely at Zell am See Airport.

🇭🇺 Russian Ambassador to Hungary handed note of protest over airstrike on Zakarpattya

Ambassador Yevgeny Stanislavov arrived at the Hungarian Foreign Ministry at 11:30 Kyiv time and left 25 minutes later without any comments.

Yesterday, Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orban summoned the Russian ambassador over the largest Russian airstrike since the beginning of the war on Zakarpattya, where a large Hungarian minority lives.

Hungarian railway workers who were at the Ukrainian Chop station at the time of the attack also came under attack.

The attack was also condemned by the new Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar, promising “all possible assistance” to the affected Hungarians in Zakarpattya.
