@ViewFromShikhar Distance all day every day! I have been a regular runner for last 15 years and last year bumped up my volume without much speed work and ran a 14 minute full marathon PR
@karagoucher@liz_hank@CitiusMag For a veteran athlete like her to not have a TUE as part of getting the prescription is such a huge failure on her and her team’s part. Agreed she may not have taken it for performance enhancing reasons but how do you not consider the consequences till you get tested?
@UltraRunner26 agreed 100%!!! also, dont trust the car turning right will see you and stop. the drivers are usually looking to the left to see when it is good to turn. best to go behind the car to cross if you don't want to wait.
@mutant1879@In_Sane_Saint Agree, Cooper test is a good proxy. Do it once in a while to see progress. Don’t get too attached to a number. My personal opinion lab CPET is just an overkill for amateur athletes
@In_Sane_Saint Why are so many people facinated by this arbitrary number? If marathon performance is critical for you, do high volume to the extent you are able to, avoid injuries due to overtraining, be consistent with your runs and do it for years. Along the way build in strength work.
@DavidDack That’s why I carry my own water bottle and pour the paper cup water on my head to to keep me cool. Have to watch out to make sure it’s water and not Gatorade :)
