BMO and RBC sold Moneris, the processor that clears one in three Canadian card transactions, to a US based private equity firm for two billion dollars this week. TD gave part of its payments book to Fiserv last year. CIBC and Scotiabank already run their card rails through Chase and Global Payments. That's the pattern now.
I've spent years shipping code on top of processors like this one. Watching every big bank quietly hand off the pipes their money actually moves through makes me wonder who in Ottawa is tracking that as an infrastructure risk, not just a business story.

You see that story yesterday about the 30 year old babe whose parents are refusing to ALLOW to move out... now imagine she ends up with this kind of MIL. Do you think she'll be able to speak up for herself & push back? This is how authoritarian parents set their kids to be abused
Abbot: Jane, do you know anything about this fake letter YOU wrote as a ruse to prevent / delay Lisbon from Leaving to DC so you could wine and dine her in your pre planned hotel escapade to finally express your true feelings and win her back from Pike?
Jane: No
Abbott: Okay
