As of this morning, the City of Miami has officially passed and adopted the 2026 Bike Masterplan! This one is for the books. 🥳🚲
This win was only possible thanks to every safe cycling advocate who came out and spoke up for their right to a safe, connected, and accessible cycling network. 🧡
A special thank you to @CityofMiami Commissioner @RosadoForMiami , Commissioner @Damianpardo8 , and Chairwoman King for co-sponsoring this plan and making it a priority, and to City staff for the hard work it takes to get something like this across the finish line at commission and ensuring community input was properly incorporated every step of the way.
And now, we hold the city to this plan. We look forward to working closely with the City to ensure that these 12 priority projects are built safely and done right by 2031. If you too want to see a safe cycling network in Miami, make sure to stay updated and join us!
Let’s get to work 🚴🚴🏼♀️🚴♂️💚

The City of Miami Bike Master Plan finally goes to a vote at City Hall tomorrow and we need to pack the room 🚲
🗓️ Thursday 5/28, 9am
📍 City Hall, 3500 Pan American Dr, Coconut Grove
This plan is finally closer than it’s ever been. and now we just need the Commission to vote YES and commit to getting it built by 2031. That only happens if they hear from us.
There are a few ways to help:
→ Show up tomorrow at City Hall at 9am
→ Call your commissioner before the vote and ask them to vote YES
→ forward this to a friend, neighbor, coworker, the more voices the better
We are sure many of you are already aware, this is our once-in-a-generation shot to make biking in Miami safe for everyone. Let’s get this plan passed, and built!

Spent the morning with the Springview Elementary Bike Bus, and these kids and parents rejuvenated us on our 24 hr Transit Triathlon. Watch only if you want to feel good inside… #bikebus#transittriathlon
The water taxi’s strong ridership numbers show there’s demand for public transit across the bay. Nearly 80% of Miami Beach residents support baylink. We ask that Miami Beach officials rethink their opposition.

I couldn’t even get a TCO when I was trying to get a family home for Christmas and Public Works said no bc my driveway slope was slightly too big around a drain…
NU STADIUM: Nu Stadium has received a temporary certificate of occupancy ahead of this weekend’s Inter Miami match, city officials confirmed Friday, allowing the venue to move forward without relying on a limited-event permit. https://t.co/M8vbVaDLCW
After walking 7 blocks on Douglas Road today — I can confidently say if I am given the choice between 2 days in jail or walking 12 blocks of Douglas & crossing its dangerous traffic 4 times—I’m picking the lock up. Narrow sidewalks. No shade. Miami + Coral Gables deserve better.
From the @MiamiHerald: "Only when [the Herald site] is developed will the 1979 requirement kick in."
The Herlad Office Building was torn down, replaced by massive concrete slabs and new utility grids to support profitable events like the Boat Show and Art Basel. If the site is "developed" enough to support commercial infrastructure, why is it not "developed" enough to trigger the #Baywalk?
It is peak irony that Dan Paul,, who defended the Herald’s rights at the Supreme Court in Tornillo and represented the paper for 30 years, now has his legacy of public waterfront access stalled on the very ground where the Herald once stood.
I implore the Herald Editorial Board to investigate this loophole of the term "Substantial Improvement" as to how it relates to the Baywalk and Riverwalk. #BuildTheBaywalk #Miami #UrbanPlanning
@dcusco56@MiamiTodayNews Currently you have to walk all the way back to Biscayne to get back onto the baywalk. This closes a major gap. They can’t continue the baywalk as it is bc the head room isn’t enough legally below 395 so they have to do this.
Miami Beach approved fully pedestrianizing Ocean Drive north of 5th St. This would create 20 ft wide sidewalks and expansive seating areas.
Side streets would have cul-de-sacs for passenger vehicles to easily turn around. Trucks would use the alleys on Ocean Court. Collapsible bollards would be in place to allow emergency vehicles through.
The county has to sign off on the design before it can move forward. If it gets the green light, it’ll take around 8 months before any construction documents are ready
