Supreme Court hears a plea challenging the Chhattisgarh High Court’s refusal to grant anticipatory bail to a man accused of making allegedly objectionable remarks about Hindu women in a social media post.
Adv Prashant Bhushan: It’s a Facebook post which just says, go teach the Hindus that the tax on women covering their breasts was not imposed by Aurangzeb but by some Brahmin. That's all. This is not an offence.
#Bhopal Chandrashekhar Tiwari, a Brahmin man, repeatedly made derogatory remarks against Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Ambedkarites have now confronted him with a strong message: Insulting Babasaheb will not go unanswered. Ambedkarites will stand united to defend his dignity and legacy.
Najis lost her husband, Jamaluddin, during the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots. Left to raise their four sons, she faced the enormous responsibility of caring for her family while trying to secure a stable future for her children.
Despite the challenges, Najis continued moving forward. She began constructing a house with the hope of creating a more secure future for her family. However, after an accident consumed her hard-earned savings, completing the house became increasingly difficult.
That is when Miles2Smile Foundation stepped in to support her rehabilitation journey and help complete the construction of her house.
This was more than an effort to finish a building. It was about helping a family regain stability, creating the possibility of rental income, and supporting a mother working towards a more secure future for her children.
For families affected by communal violence, rehabilitation must go beyond immediate relief. It must include sustainable livelihood opportunities, financial security, and the support needed to rebuild life with dignity.
Najis’s story reminds us that rebuilding lives takes time, compassion, and meaningful action. While the pain of losing a loved one cannot be undone, communities can stand together to ensure that survivors are not left to face the challenges alone.
Miles2Smile Foundation remains committed to supporting families affected by violence and helping them move towards dignity, resilience, and sustainable rehabilitation.

I’m deeply alarmed by Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank.
Settlements are expanding, evictions are unrelenting with Palestinians driven from their lands, settler violence is surging, Palestinian families are being assaulted.
We are seeing an increasingly coercive environment, with the spectre of ethnic cleansing looming ever larger.
This must end.
There can be no durable peace in the Middle East without the realization of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination.
‘Where will we go?’

Police in Kolkata have arrested three members of a 13-year-old girl’s family, including both her parents, after an 18-year-old, his father and his friend were allegedly assaulted and paraded naked in an act of mob justice.
According to police, the 18-year-old met the girl with his friend on Sunday. The girl’s uncle allegedly saw the teenager kissing her and alerted her father and another uncle. The family then took the youths to their home, beat them, and forced the 18-year-old to call his father.
When the father arrived, he was also assaulted. A senior officer said the family threatened to shoot all three if they refused to strip, then made them walk naked for about 50 metres along the lane outside the house. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
After the father’s complaint, police registered a case under several Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections, including attempt to murder, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation and kidnapping. The girl’s father, mother and uncle have been arrested, and raids continue for other accomplices.
All three victims, who have been medically examined, say they were threatened with a firearm, which police have yet to recover. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning eyewitnesses.
