🧠 Migraine: More Than Just a Headache – Let’s Take Control!
Did you know 1 in 5 people experience migraines? More common in women, migraines can be debilitating and affect work, social life, and mental health. But the good news? You CAN take charge! Let’s break it down and explore prevention, management, and expert-backed tips. 🧵👇
🔍 Spot the Early Signs
Migraines don’t always strike out of nowhere. Warning signs can show up days before the headache, such as:
⚡ Excessive yawning
⚡ Fatigue & brain fog
⚡ Increased urination
⚡ Mood changes (irritability or elation)
Recognizing these early? That’s your chance to intervene before the full-blown attack.
🎯 Know Your Triggers
Avoiding triggers = fewer migraines! Some of the most common culprits include:
❌ Weekend migraines – Relaxing after stress can be a trigger!
❌ Hormonal changes – Migraines spike during menstruation.
❌ Food triggers – Aged cheese, alcohol, chocolate, processed foods.
❌ Bright lights & strong smells – Yes, even perfumes!
❌ Caffeine (too much or too little!) – Balance is key.
👉 Pro Tip: Keep a migraine diary to track what triggers your attacks and plan accordingly.
🛑 Stopping an Attack in Its Tracks
If a migraine starts, act fast! Here’s what helps:
✅ Take NSAIDs or a triptan ASAP (limit use to avoid rebound headaches).
✅ Find a quiet, dark space to rest.
✅ Use cold compresses on your forehead.
✅ Try deep breathing or meditation to ease tension.
✅ Take anti-nausea meds (if needed).
🏆 Long-Term Prevention Strategies
The best way to beat migraines is to stop them before they start!
💧 Hydration & balanced meals – Skipping meals is a BIG trigger!
🛌 Consistent sleep schedule – Yes, even on weekends.
🏃♂️ Regular exercise – Moderate activity helps (but avoid overexertion).
☕ Watch your caffeine intake – Keep it steady.
🧠 Manage stress – CBT, yoga, and relaxation techniques work wonders!
🧬 Cutting-Edge Treatments
If migraines persist, talk to a doctor about:
💊 Preventive meds like topiramate, valproate, or beta-blockers.
🌿 Supplements (magnesium, riboflavin, CoQ10).
💉 Botox injections for chronic migraines.
🧪 Monoclonal antibodies (like Ajovy, Emgality) – game-changers for some!
🌟 The Bottom Line? You’re NOT Powerless!
Migraines can feel overwhelming, but with the right strategy, YOU can take control. 🚀 Start tracking your triggers, stick to a routine, and don’t hesitate to seek help. Your brain deserves the best – let’s beat migraines together! 💪💙 #MigraineAwareness #HealthTips
Even after passing so called screening exam FMGE at par NEETPG we face discrimination from high tables to ground level. Everytime questions arise on our competency even though we are equally capable sometimes better. Why such discrimination? Still we have to do 2/3 yrs internship
Call for Genuine Dialogue with Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs)
We are deeply concerned by the recent actions of the National Medical Commission @NMC_IND regarding the new policies affecting Foreign Medical Graduates #FMGs . Despite multiple attempts by #FMGs to engage in constructive dialogue about these policies, the doors have been closed to them, leaving many feeling unheard and marginalized.
Key Issues Highlighted:
1.Lack of Engagement with FMGs:
•When FMGs approached the NMC to discuss the recent circulars impacting their education and career pathways, they were met with a closed door. This lack of openness contradicts the NMC’s stated commitment to inclusivity and transparency.
•On other occasions, the NMC has publicly invited dialogue with medical professionals on various issues. The exclusion of FMGs from such conversations suggests a discrepancy in how different members of the medical community are treated.
2.The Need for Authentic Communication:
•Effective policymaking requires genuine engagement with all stakeholders. FMGs, who represent a significant portion of the medical workforce, deserve to have their voices heard and their concerns addressed in a fair and transparent manner.
•The perception that the NMC is avoiding meaningful dialogue with FMGs undermines trust and suggests a lack of willingness to address the real challenges faced by these dedicated professionals.
Our Stance:
We at @udfaindia believe that a body like the NMC, which is designed to represent and listen to the medical community, must be open to all its members. Ignoring or sidelining any group is counterproductive and contrary to the principles of equality and fairness.
Why This Matters:
•Equity and Representation: All medical professionals, regardless of where they received their education, should have the opportunity to engage with regulatory bodies and influence policies that affect their careers and lives.
•Transparency and Trust: For the NMC to maintain its credibility and legitimacy, it must foster an environment of openness and responsiveness, especially towards those who are most impacted by its decisions.
•Potential for Unrest: If the NMC continues to act unilaterally without genuine dialogue, it risks alienating a significant portion of the medical community. This could lead to increased discontent and potential protests, which is not in anyone’s interest.
Our Call to Action:
•Open the Doors to Dialogue: We urge the NMC to actively engage with FMGs and their representatives to discuss the implications of recent policies and seek mutually acceptable solutions.
•Demonstrate True Commitment: Show that the commitment to inclusivity and open dialogue is not just for show, but a fundamental principle guiding the NMC’s actions.
•Listen and Represent: The NMC must fulfill its mandate to listen to and represent all members of the medical community, including FMGs who have contributed significantly to healthcare in India.
Let’s Work Together for a Fair and Inclusive Medical Community.
We remain hopeful that the NMC will reconsider its approach and embrace a more inclusive and open stance towards FMGs. It is only through unity and collaboration that we can ensure a just and effective healthcare system for all.

Good Afternoon!
Regarding the recent notice of NMC,FMGs have gathered in New Delhi near NMC requesting to withdraw the notice.
We again request @NMC_IND@dryogendermalik to intervene and withdraw the notice with provisions to verify the compensation letter for the online mode of
WELL DONE
FMGs who were present today at @NMC_IND office to fight against Injustice, discrimination💪
We request newly appointed Health Minister @JPNadda sir to take appropriate stapes against this discrimination with FMGs and reduce internship to 1 year as IMGs.
@MoHFW_INDIA
We kindly request @NMC_IND,Respected Chairman sir,President UGMEB & @dryogendermalik sir to intervene and reconsider the notice.
After clearing FMGE ,one of the tough exam and one year internship along with compensation letter which proves students
It is funny to see @NMC_IND speaking about the safety of public health.
It is funny to see how DrArunaVVanikar remembers about public health safety only in cases of FMGs and MScMedicine Postgraduates.
What happened to Public health safety
1. When there were colleges whose recognition was cancelled for want of minimum requirements and MBBS students graduated from such colleges
2. When the minimum percentage of marks required to pass in university examination is reduced from 50 to 40
3. When the qualifying marks in NEETPG2023 is reduced to ZeroPercentile
4. When NMC instantaneously withdrawn the gazette on Generic medicines prescription
5. When almost all the medical colleges in the Nation are having severe faculty deficiencies and especially in Pre and Para clinical departments
6. When insufficiently trained IMGs are being graduated in the country
7. When undeserving IMGs are allowed to pursue Post graduation and allowed to practice medicine
8. When the duty doctors were performing duties for a continuous period of more than 24 hours.
9. When there is no such regulation in certain states (such as Maharashtra) for nursing staff in Nursing homes to be registered with Nursing council
10. When BAMS/ BHMS graduates are being employed as duty doctors and also in ICUs in many of the pvt hospitals across the country
11. When there were scams such as in NEETUG2024
And many more
If NMC doesn’t want Indian students to go outside and study medicine, they should ban it officially.
What pleasure do they get in harassing the FMG students.
2 year internship is already one of the silliest decision and now this 2-3 years? What purpose does it solve?
How incompetent is the @NMC_IND in taking decisions regarding FMG Students?
Pic - 1 : All FMGs are required to complete their study in offline mode or to supplement their online theory subjects/classes by offline practical and clinical training.
Pic - 2 : (By Taking Complete U Turn)
Certificate regarding supplementation of online theory subjects/classes by offline practical and clinical training won't be accepted and have to undergo Two/Three Years of Internship.
"Life of Indian Citizens can't be put at stake by poorly trained Medical Professionals" - This is the worst statement given by @NMC_IND for FMGs. Isn't NMC aware about how some of the medical colleges in India are working?
This matter should be taken into court of law. Hoping that new government will do justice to FMG Students!
It’s sad that only FMGE’s are being made to do extended internships in compensation of the online classes attended by them (most of them during COVID). NMC cannot just make them as the scapegoat. This decision should be re-evaluated!

NMC has released new rules for FMGs making it compulsory to do 2-3 years of internship as per an old circular regulations .
MBBS Normal Duration: 5- 5.5 Years
MBBS normal duration for FMGs who studied online = 6+3 years of internship + 1-2 year of cracking FMG exam = 10 years
With this rule MBBS degree for FMGs should be considered in “Guinness book of records” for the longest duration degree in the world
If NMC has issues with FMGs they should clarify and stop Medical students from studying abroad
If this is not discrimination against FMGs then I don’t know what is !
#COVID19INDIANSINUKRAINE
