@Thatbrian@ScoutTrails Unfortunately, it happens. Too bad you didn’t research for yourself what the church truly believes. If you did, you would have remained Catholic but now you cut off from the true church that Jesus Christ founded. I will pray for you.
@Thatbrian The greeting that follows is drawn straight from St. Paul: "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all" (2 Cor 13:13), and the people's response of "Amen" echoes 1 Chronicles 16:36.
@Thatbrian The Introductory Rites
The Mass opens with the Sign of the Cross, and the biblical nature of Catholic worship is recognized in the first prayer of the Mass, the sign of the cross, as the language comes directly from Matthew 28:19
@Thatbrian The Bible is cited over 100 times throughout a single celebration of the Mass, with many of these being word-for-word quotations rather than mere allusions.
@phushore@Thatbrian I’ve read the bible cover to cover 2X on my 3rd now. There is more bible in a weekday mass than a whole month of Protestant “service”.
“The day of the Nativity of the Mother of God is a day of universal joy, because through the Mother of God, the entire human race was renewed, and the sorrow of the first mother, Eve, was transformed into joy.” —St. John Damascene
