@judeverde_fc I think there is a concerted effort by Israel to infiltrate the Palestine movement and then redefine the scope of "antizionism" from within. It's ironically a very Jewish way to deal with a debate you are losing - just redefine words to mean what serves your side.
Pakistan is readying its army to bomb the brave people of Yemen? But didn’t lift a finger to save Gaza? Your guns are trained towards your fellow Muslims - you are not an Islamic republic
@NobleQAli I think it probably has some connection to postmodernism which sought to counter the excesses of modernism by denying objectivity altogether and elevating feelings and interpretations as the preferred basis of truth.
@ireallyhateyou As Zionism becomes despised around the world, Zionist Jews are going to try to salvage it by doing the most Jewish thing ever - adopt the words and slogans of their enemies but subvert their actual meaning. Soon "antizionism" is just going to signify liberal Zionism
@JoseKahnuicy@NerdeenKiswani Your comment might make sense if you assume that everyone who makes accusations of antisemitism against Palestine movement is free of bigotry at the outset and/or is impervious to the same antizionist/antisemitism conflation that people who are either pro-Israel or indifferent +
@dropoutnation In the past few weeks (after Israel announced it was increasing it's hasbara budget) I have seen an increase in these "anti-Zionist Jew" accounts who spend all their time talking abt antisemitism in the Palestine movement and it's giving psyop.
Nobody cares how historic or spiritual your racism is. This isn't an argument. Can you believe this is the best that a barrister/judge could come up with?
@PriyamvadaGopal As Zionism becomes despised around the world, Zionist Jews are going to do is to try to salvage it by redefining words to mean something other that their most logical meaning. Soon "anti-Zionism" is just going to mean liberal Zionism. This is the new phase of hasbara

From the Portuguese, French, Dutch, Spanish etc, they've all used "collective trauma" justifications, go look at the foundations of Afrikanernasionalisme in South Africa, it uses "collective trauma, existential threat, and historical grievance" to mobilise supremacy. Boer complex
To identify as a Nazi was complicated and contradictory. It didn’t have to “make sense”. There were millions of people who identified as “Nazis”, often in very pragmatic ways. They just wanted a homeland deeply rooted in blood and soil. This didn’t make them “racist”.
@Psychic_Rina Exactly. This same argument could also be used by Nazis and Boers in South Africa. Statistically, all mass movements are going to have at least some people who believe in a benign version of a concept that is abstracted from material reality. Zionism isn't special in that sense.
@jizzzzwiz@souljagoyteller Funny how that exact same argument could be used by Nazis and Boers in South Africa. Statistically, all mass movements are going to have at least some people who believe in a benign version of a concept that is abstracted from material reality.
@CoralWeezer@RefrmDemocracy The point was to make it seem like the genocide in being Gaza is being carried out but Christian Zionists. It's not. The IDF terrorists sniping Palestinian toddlers are overwhelmingly Jewish Zionists. That is also a factual statement.
@cogito_yuri@Teecasket Obviously it is a political consequence of material conditions. But so is white supremacy. Everything can be attributed to material conditions that precede it but that doesn't mean you can't talk about that system on its own
Identities are complicated and contradictory. They don’t need to “make sense.” There are millions of people who identify as “Rhodesians,” often in very pragmatic ways. They believe that Whites should have a homeland in southern Africa, period. This does not make them “racist.”
