📢 Today I received a briefing from @Eskom_SA about the electricity outage in the Klein Karoo region. The towns of Sutherland, Roggeveld, Laingsburg, Leeu Gamka, Swartberg, Merweville, Matjiesfontein, Prince Albert and Fraserburg are affected.

Eskom informs us that the outage will last several days due to the severity of the situation. Eskom has committed to giving us regular updates and I will also keep you updated if I hear anything more.

I have asked my teams to work with the affected municipalities to support critical services and functions such as water, sewage, hospitals, and schools while Eskom works to restore power.
