🐾 Read the fantastic new column from our community and engagement manager @comrie_sharon in the @pressjournal!
This month she discusses the difficult task of hand-rearing and why wild animals have different needs from domestic pets: https://t.co/EzjV4oaO8Q
🐾 Thank you to @AshtenRegan and all the MSPs who mentioned us and recognised the impact fireworks can have on animals during the Fireworks and Pyrotechnics (Scotland) Bill debate today.
We look forward to engaging with @SP_Justice@ScotGov and MSPs as the Bill progresses.
Listen to @BBC_Cumbria from 7am to hear our member Janis bravely tell her story on how #mesh ruined her life & 8am to hear @KathSansom explain why it must become mandatory for Drs to log healthcare treatment complications to #MHRA#YellowCard otherwise problems go under the radar
Oh the irony. Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology blog on how environmental pollution affects women, yet never a murmur from them on the devastating impact of permanently implanting pollutant #plastic mesh into the pelvis of thousands of women https://t.co/PlWnzakCub
Nobody knows the true scale of the #mesh scandal as no country globally has databases tracking patient outcomes for life. Some complications take years to manifest. Many drs deny mesh is the issue. Thousands are falling under the data radar #patientsafety
🐾 Kenneth Gibson MSP visited our Ayrshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre yesterday. He is a fantastic advocate for animal welfare, so animal care assistant Claire and Buddy the collie were delighted to welcome him and chat to him about our work.
What fantastic news! Thanks to so many people who have been campaigning across the UK for this. None more so than @ScottishSPCA partners @RSPCA_official @RSPCAChris who unified partners & supporters in being #TogetherForAnimalWelfare
🐾 Today is a great day for animal welfare! The Animal Welfare (Sentience) Bill has passed through both Houses of Parliament and is on the final stages before Royal Assent. This will mean that animals will be formally recognised as sentient beings in law.
Litter is an animal welfare problem and @ScottishSPCA see it all too often. We’re delighted to support @KSBScotland’s #SpringCleanScotland campaign, making a positive difference in every community in Scotland. Find out more 👇🐾🐶🦊🐰🐹🦆🐿😺
Biodiversity loss and climate change are animal welfare issues. @ScottishSPCA is delighted to welcome @nature_scot’s plan for nature & look forward to working in partnership to help our wildlife thrive #ProtectRestoreValue
🐾 Last year we attended 550 incidents involving animals injured by #litter like this bat caught in fishing line.
We support the @KSBScotland’s #SpringCleanScotland and urge you to get involved too.

Great visit to the Balerno @ScottishSPCA who have been rescuing animals since 1839. If you are interested in rehoming a rescued animal then information can be found here: https://t.co/bF5xGJvZ4m
If you find an animal in need then contact their Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
🐣 At this time of year we know people or schools/nurseries may be tempted to hatch or buy chicks for Easter. We would strongly discourage this.
If you’re concerned about the welfare of any animal, remember you can call our confidential helpline on 03000 999 999.
