Suggesting otherwise is a slap in the face to every single person that completed this historic project.

How has this organization retained any credibility with media or civil society when its assumptions are consistently wrong?

1️⃣ They warned the Darlington Refurbishment would cost $35B with massive overruns — nearly 3x reality.
Reality: completed $150M under budget and ahead of schedule.

2️⃣ They claimed Ontario didn’t need new nuclear because electricity demand would stay flat and surplus power existed.

Reality: demand is now surging.

3️⃣ They claimed renewables and conservation could replace 24/7 nuclear without reliability or cost risks.

Reality: the IESO has been clear that rising demand through 2050 cannot be met with renewables alone and requires firm baseload power.

They now push Ontario toward Germany’s failed energy model — phasing out nuclear for intermittent, expensive power. Even Germany’s own leaders have called that a regret.
