For @PoliticoPak, I analysed the explosions of pagers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon. The story behind how Israel was able to infiltrate Hezbollah's supply chain was pretty crazy, and is likely going to lead to similar attacks in the future.
Shayan Hassan Jamy( @shayanjamy),from @cass_lahore, highlights the growing salience of supply-chain warfare in the wake of the recent tech explosions in Lebanon.

🚀 Excited to have launched the Gaming for Peace initiative at the Center for Security, Strategy, and Policy Research, University of Lahore! 🎮✌️ One week down, three more to go! Bringing together minds through simulation-based learning to build a peaceful future. 🌍 #G4P #PeaceThroughGaming @CSSPR_UOL
Folks! The Gaming for Peace Fellowship is off to a fantastic start! Our first three sessions have challenged fellows to rethink peace, pushing the boundaries of their imagination. Being the director of this fellowship, here's what I have told the fellows: "Let's game for peace so that we don't have to fight for it".
Grateful to @khalidbanuri@puruesh and Feroz Khan for their thoughtful contributions in inspiring our fellows to think big and think of alternative futures! Looking fwd to sessions with Andrew Reddie, @mbudjeryn and @DrBeeZee to wrap up the first week of the gaming for peace fellowship! Pioneering work is underway and I can't wait to see what game we construct to simulate!
🌐Exciting News from the Centre for Security, Strategy and Policy Research @CSSPR_UOL at the University of Lahore!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our groundbreaking initiative, "Gaming for Peace," aimed at reducing the risk of nuclear conflict through innovative and sustainable solutions.
In August 2024, we will kick off our first session with 21 selected Gaming for Peace Fellows, who will embark on a journey to develop scenarios focused on nuclear risk reduction and peace promotion. These fellows will engage in rigorous research, strategic foresight, and multidisciplinary approaches to envision alternative futures that prioritize peace over conflict. Join us in welcoming our first cohort of Gaming for Peace Fellows and support their journey towards a safer and more secure future!
At CSSPR, we believe in the power of research and scholarship to foster global stability and security. By shifting the narrative from traditional war gaming to peace gaming, we aim to create practical solutions that can be implemented on the international stage.
We are confident that this initiative will provide a vital platform for constructive dialogue and collaboration among global communities and stakeholders. Together, we can bridge gaps between countries and promote a peaceful world for all.

Had the amazing opportunity to give a lecture on AI+Cyberspace to the BS IR and SS students at @ULahore. The class had such interesting and complex questions surrounding AI, warfare, and the future of humanity. Big thank you to @A_WarisHameed for the invite and the hospitality!
It was a pleasure to host @shayanjamy at the School of Integrated Social Sciences @ULahore. Shayan's expertise on emerging technologies and strategic issues provided a fantastic learning opportunity to our 7th & 8th semester students to learn more about the subject.
Was honored to present my paper on "Artificial Intelligence and South Asian Strategic Stability" at the Next Gen Conference at @ISSIslamabad. Massive props to @isc_issi for giving younger scholars a chance to shine!
Recently got the chance to participate as a panelist at the Young Researchers' Convention 2024, organised by
@CSCR_pk. Really glad to see young scholars being given the space to express their thoughts, and think outside the box. Definitely the most fun I've had at a Conference.
Delighted to share details of New Initiative: “ISSI NextGen International Security Experts Conference 2024”, on 7 March 2024.

Sen Sherry Rehman joining as Chief Guest at Inaugural
Moderator @HajiraaKhan, in the working committee on “Exploring Faultlines in Global Governance,” highlighted the potential challenges to the emerging world order, underscoring a people-centred approach in this dynamic situation.
Some key points:
Globalisation has introduced a new imperial system, with China emerging as a credible challenge to the American-led international order.
The disordering of information is a big fault line of rules-based international order.
Pakistan cannot completely go with Washington's consensus and should decide based on its national interest.
A lot of censorship is witnessed in the reportage of the Israel-Hamas conflict in mainstream Western media as compared to the Ukraine-Russia War.
The current global order has failed to hold Israel accountable for its war crimes.
There is no need for a new Geneva Convention. The implementations of the existing UN resolutions are needed to manage international armed conflicts with greater accountability.
