Imagine a classroom in Tihu College, Assam. It is a humble setting where local students come to learn the basics of physics. At the front of the room stands a man who looks like any other dedicated prof. But when the bell rings & the students leave, Atanu Nath plugs back into the global grid. He is calculating the g-2 factor: a measurement so precise it is like measuring the distance from Earth to the Moon with the accuracy of a human hair.
The Muon is like a fat version of an electron. According to every physics book written in the last 50 yrs, it should wobble at a specific rate when put in a magnetic field. But it does not It wobbles differently. Prof. Nath was part of the elite global team that tracked this tiny, impossible discrepancy.
The Northeast has always been a Silo of culture & resilience, but in the world of high-energy particle physics, it was often a Ghost region. By winning the 2026 Breakthrough Prize, Prof. Nath shattered that ceiling. He proved that a scientist from Lalabazar, Hailakandi, can sit at the same table as the legends of Brookhaven & CERN.
Even with a Breakthrough Prize (and its multi-million dollar purse shared among the team), Prof. Nath remains an Assistant Prof at a local college. He represents the India Bull spirit: the refusal to move to the Big City because the mind can travel further than the body ever could.
The biggest takeaway for me after meeting @bryan_johnson was debunking the myth I once believed: that only Delhi in India has an air quality problem—and that it occurs only in winter.
We recorded @nikhilkamathcio’s (link in the following tweet) WTF podcast in a sea-facing apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, and the AQI was a whopping 160+. If the AQI was this high in Bandra, just imagine the levels in the more crowded parts of the town.
Later, I got an AQI meter for our office in J.P. Nagar—a quiet corner of Bengaluru—and was shocked to see it reading 120+. Again, imagine how much worse it might be in the busier parts of the city. What makes matters trickier in Bengaluru is the dust from the ongoing construction boom and poor roads.
Most places in the US and Europe have AQIs below 50, which is considered good. An AQI of 50 to 100 is moderate, 100 to 150 is poor, 150 to 200 is unhealthy, 200 to 250 is severe, and above 250 is hazardous.
Long-term exposure to poor air quality can cause lung damage, cardiovascular problems, compromised immunity, an increased risk of cancer, and more—all of which ultimately affect quality of life. In Delhi, for example, the AQI can reach 500 or more in winter and 200+ in summer.
This has bothered me ever since. Everyone should have equal access to clean air. With water, you can use a filter to ensure decent quality. But what about air? We seem to have gotten used to the fact that air pollution is just a part of life, and we’re okay with breathing low-quality air—even though clean air is a fundamental right granted to citizens by the Constitution.
So, shouldn’t property prices be linked to AQI? The higher the AQI, the lower the real estate prices should be. That means if an area has poor air quality, property prices and rents should be lower, and vice versa. After all, by living in such areas, you are accepting higher odds of respiratory ailments, cancer, etc.
There also doesn’t seem to be much research on this in India. If you are a researcher thinking about or working on this topic, we’d love to connect with you. Perhaps some large hospital chains would be willing to provide anonymized data sets on health issues for researchers to work on.
Please let us know if you are working on AQI, its impact on both personal and public health, or if you intend to explore it further. We at @RainmatterOrg would like to collaborate. We are trying to improve quality of life, and air quality plays a significant role in many cities across the country. 1/3
@DasShaktikanta@RBI please look into this serious issue
First they deducted processing fee from the sanctioned loan after that they charges compound interest on the fee which is on there bank.
If i pay the processing from any sources i have to pay 4129 but they charged me 5441.
@HDFC_Bank I am feeling scammed for taking a loan from your bank. Firstly, you deducted processing fee from the sanctioned loan amount and then you are charging interest on the processing fee till the loan closure.
@RBI doesn't have any policy on this serious issue..!!

@AshwiniVaishnaw@narendramodi Govt are forcing govt employees to allocate there funds in low return class assest. Data says everything. Remove 50% cap in equity for govt employees. We want to allocate our funds in high return assest class. We want to allocate our 100% money in equity funds.
@PMOIndia@FinMinIndia@AshviniVaishnaw@ChairmanPFRDA@ndtv NPS is not securing govt employee's future,UPS is introduced.But why govt are forcing employees to allocate there funds in low return assest classes! We want 100% allocation of our funds in equity.We will go with Data
@PMOIndia@AshviniVaishnaw@ChairmanPFRDA@ndtv After UPS If there is somebody who want to go with NPS give them the flexibility to allocate there 100% funds into equity. Remove 50% equity cap for govt employee. Private Employees are allocating there 75% in equity funds.
@ChairmanPFRDA Sir,Please give us (Govt Employee) the flexibility by removing the 50% cap in equity. After all it is our money. We want to invest our money as much as possible in equity. Everyone knows that in long term, equity beats every asset class. Don't ruin our future.

@dmuthuk Sir please use nps calculator , if any employee given 30yrs in their job , how much amount they will provide under nps in lumpsum and nps pension. Nps is far far better than ups.nps>ups
@ChairmanPFRDA Sir , as a govt employee i want to invest 100% of my nps deduction into equity portion. Why i don't have the rights to allocate my 100% nps fund in equity portion.
Please allow me to invest my 100% nps fund in equity portion.
@nps_trust@ZeeBusiness
@ChairmanPFRDA Sir, if I put 1rs or 100rs in equity, in both the case my money is in risk. If my money is in risk than allow me to take the risk according to my knowledge and beliefs in equity.
Bond 100% available but why not 100% equity?
@PFRDAOfficial@nps_trust@ZeeBusiness
@ChairmanPFRDA Sir, If any state govt employee has the knowledge and belife in equity than also why he has forced only Max 50% equity allocation..! Please allow us upto 100% equity allocation. We earn little money,we are young please secure our future.

@nps_trust if any young govt employees have the long term service life, why they are still bound only in 50% equity allocation?We earn little money, give us the right and choice to secure our future by allocating our money in 100% equity portion.
#flexibility#ourmoneyourchoice
