@a16z Subscription alone for AI apps is a dead end. Companies need to be more intuitive. You can’t be saying AI would be a necessity and still charge subscriptions for it.
@rohit3a The best setups are gonna be model agnostic like this, one model running another. Curious though, do you split it yourself by task or let Opus decide?
@twistartups@Jason@Lons Business has always been teams with tools vs other teams. AI is insanely powerful, yet it's a tool every team has access to. It makes it easier to start solo, but long term teams have a higher probability of winning.
Anthropic has nerfed there model. I have been using it to do the same task since opus 5.5 released.
First day of it refusing to do the task.
@TheAhmadOsman you were right!
@ziwenxu_ AI is more intuitive in nature than any other technology. We are officially in the diffusion era! I am building in Mississippi, the acceptance and willingness to adopt is surprisingly positive. 2 years is reasonable i believe.
In simple words: Alex Atallah (OpenRouter) is responding to the complaint that every AI product looks identical: a loop, memory, connectors, notifications, search, and an always-on agent.His point is that those pieces are just the new basics, like login, signup, a user database, and a profile page were in 2005. Back then people said every website looked the same too. Those features were required, not the product. Real differences showed up on top of them.Same idea here: shared agent plumbing is table stakes. Companies still differentiate on what the agent actually does, who it’s for, and how well it works
And It totally makes sense
.@OpenRouter co-founder Alex Atallah on the "everyone is building the same thing" take:
"This reminds me of this tweet I saw... Everybody's building an agent loop with notifications, third-party connectors, context management, memory, sandboxes, agentic web search, an always-on agent on top."
"This product is showing up everywhere. It is showing up everywhere, but these are just the new table-stakes primitives."
"A 2005 version of that tweet would be: 'Oh, everybody's building the same thing. A database, a users table, a sign-in page, a sign-up page, a profile page, a logout page. Everything's the same.'"
"There's like a lot of differentiation really. There's table-stakes needs for AI just like there's table-stakes needs for the web."

@garrytan We are far from saturation right now. People dont realise it. The diffusion is just starting to begin. All industries are getting reinvented.
