A KTN exposé has uncovered how Kenyan voter registration equipment and materials, including national ID cards and voter cards, are being smuggled across the Suam border into Uganda and used to register foreign nationals, including members of the Saboti, Sabaot, Bukusu and Pokot communities.
New Bill Alert 🚨
The Sacco Societies (Ammendment) Bill, 2025
Sponsor of the Bill: Kimani Ichung'wa, Leader of Majority
Bill Explainer vid tomorrow.
This will be a 2 part vid to cater for multiple clauses (It's a 21 page Ammendment Bill)
🚨 There’s a SACCO bill in Parliament today, and most Kenyans don’t even know what’s coming.
Quietly... with almost no public attention…
A system is being introduced that will centralize SACCO money, and Govt will now have a massive say in it.
Think of it as a “Super SACCO” for all SACCOs.
It will:
- Hold funds from different SACCOs
- Manage liquidity
- Run payments
- Lend to SACCOs
- Invest your money
Sounds safe? Here’s the reality:
❗ SACCOs could lose some operational independence
❗ Oversight becomes much heavier (via Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority)
❗ Leaders must meet “fit & proper” approval
❗ Strict reporting & constant supervision
And yes, this could mean slower access to your money in some situations.
Now the part they won’t emphasize:
Your savings are only protected up to KSh 100,000
If a SACCO collapses?
Anything above that = your risk.
Even worse:
⚠️ Payouts are NOT immediate
⚠️ Must be approved & gazetted first
⚠️ You could wait while your money is locked
So ask yourself:
Why centralize SACCO money...
But limit protection for members?
This bill is being sold as “safety.”
But it also introduces control by the government, delays, and new risks for ordinary Kenyans.
This is how systems change,
slowly, quietly... then permanently
All businesses in Kenya are in a permanent state of audit. I repeat Permanent state of audit.
The compliance burden is going to go through the roof. Business is now focused on meeting KRA documentation needs and not actual business.
„but why did you make it xyz“ because it’s fun, because I like it, because why not, because I can, because it doesn’t matter, because no one can tell me not to, because it felt right, because it makes me happy when I look at it
This is the reason the Asian Group in Kenya is held under suspicion by other Kenyans. These same people were praising & financing Moi as citizens demanded reforms. A clique of them held total control over the Judiciary from the 70s until early 90s. The most notorious of magistrates & judges that became part of the Jomo Kenyatta-Arap Moi dictatorship were Asian. Every dissident that was imprisoned knew Joginder Sigh Sokhi (The interrogator); Rashad Rao (Prosecutor) and any of these: Fidahusein Abdullah, Pritam Singh Brar, Abdul Rauf etc as Magistrate/ Judge.
Their nefarious role has somehow escaped scrutiny over the years.
The young lady who went undercover for this BBC story is a good friend, a wife, and mother. She is still traumatized by her encounter with John Chebochock. He was preying on women workers at James #Finlays Kenya in exchange for employment. The rapist is now a @KTDATea director.
This guy has nailed it. #Demonstrations are not about Raila Odinga, It's Not a Luo affair but a collective responsibility of every Kenyan that has been boxed economically by this inept government. You cannot levy extra tax on mwaninchi to go&pay Evan Kidero, Margaret Wanjiru, Isaac Mwaura, Milicent Omanga and 46 others, 1m each in salaries every Month. The people that they have Paid to Go kill fellow Kenyans in Kangemi, Embakasi, Kibra who are excising their democratic rights will eventually head back home to butcher others. That is How Mungiki was born. https://t.co/rBRQI0t5Bf
Imagine a Member of Parliament asking the Clerk how to mark the ballot paper for the Speaker elections. These are the people you people sent to parliament to draft bills. Jesus Christ of Kitengela.
