Yday, we were thrilled to be the charity partner at @UKShipping Summer Lunch at @SignetLibrary in Edinburgh. Great opportunity to network & discuss how we can drive a positive impact. Huge THANKS to our Dev Director Temi Binitie for representing us & highlighting #seafarerwelfare
It was great to welcome members, cadets and Parliamentarians to our reception yesterday. The shipping community is as it's best when united and the Chamber seeks to provide as many opportunities as possible for us to present that united voice.
Thank you to @Byron_Davies for joining us yesterday at our Parliamentary reception to show his support for UK #Shipping and to meet so many of the fantastic cadets in the industry.
Thanks to @LabourSatvir for spending some time with me and @RedFunnelFerry last week.
It's vital that #Southampton and other #maritime areas have the infrastructure they need to ensure shipping can reach net zero.
Great to be hosted by @ukshipping and @RedFunnelFerry recently, even got to pilot the ferry from the IOW (supervised of course!).
Southampton is a proud maritime hub, but I heard the sector needs certainty and local sustainable energy infrastructure for it to be viable long-term
Thanks to @MikeTappTweets for taking the time to meet with Chamber members @dfds_ukire today. Looking forward to keeping the discussion going over the months ahead.
It was great to visit DFDS today with @ukshipping and @shippingTBH.
It's great to see sea farers at DFDS treated with the respect they deserve.
There are challenges that need addressing, with the new border system of great concern, and electric supplies for #netzero ports.
Today, we went to Parliament for a roundtable with Shadow Maritime Minister @MikeKaneMP.
We discussed the importance of ensuring that #shipping can decarbonise while continuing to support UK economic prosperity and social well-being.
