Long before the Xiongnu, Ordos shaped steppe culture. While some regional bronzes date back ~3,500 years, pieces like the gold‑and‑turquoise eagle‑topped crown (Warring States period, 5th–3rd c. BC) show how these traditions evolved into symbols of Xiongnu power.
