An adult elephant believed to be the mother of a calf killed in a pre-dawn road collision remained at the crash site in Johor yesterday morning, staying nearby until wildlife officers completed an operation to bury the young elephant and return it safely to the jungle.
According to New Straits Times, the elephant calf was struck by a car along Jalan Felda Nitar near Kampung Pengkalan Bukit Asli, in Mersing.
An adult elephant lingered at the scene, disrupting traffic as rescuers and wildlife personnel responded.
Johor Health and Environment Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said the Johor Elephant Action Unit was deployed to manage the situation and ensure public safety.
AirAsia X has reportedly fallen behind on payments to some suppliers and sought deferrals for at least a dozen aircraft leases, as higher fuel prices continue to strain its finances, Bloomberg reports.
Rolls-Royce has also informed the airline that it missed payments under its engine maintenance agreement, which covers engines for about one-tenth of AirAsia’s fleet of roughly 250 aircraft.

Obesity doesn't just affect the waistline—it reshapes the brain. Emerging evidence suggests chronic metabolic overload disrupts neurovascular coupling, blood–brain barrier integrity, cerebrospinal fluid dynamics, and myelination, creating conditions that may accelerate neurodegeneration. As obesity and neurological disorders rise in parallel, understanding these interconnected pathways could reveal new strategies to protect brain health across the lifespan. #Neuroscience #Obesity #BrainHealth

Dead Internet Theory is now Fact and no one is ready for this conversation. I was gobsmacked when some founders bragged to me they'd 'bought a subreddit' - I didn't think that was possible - but they'd simply bought the moderators' accounts and taken control (to get the GEO).

(?!!) The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control says people can spread hantavirus to others *before* they start showing symptoms, which directly contradicts everything we’re being told in the US right now.
On a serious note, AZRB won a contract to use public funds to renovate the palace at an unexplainable sum; and today we learn it's about 10% of sum allocated for projects in Pahang. Imagine, 10% of an entire state allocation just for one renovation for one property.
