A clash between Dasara elephants Kanjan and Jai Marthanda triggered panic among tourists at the Cauvery river bathing point, leading to the death of a tourist from Chennai.

Serious questions are now being raised over tourist safety protocols at elephant camps.

ಒಂದು ತಿಂಗಳ ಹಿಂದಷ್ಟೇ ಮದುವೆಯಾದ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ಪ್ರಸಾದ, ಹೇಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ಒಂದು ಗೌಪ್ಯ ವಿಷಯ. ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಮೇಲೆ, ಪ್ರಸಾದ ಮೊದಲದಿನ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ, ಸಂಜೆ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಿಂದ ಮೆಸೇಜ್ ಬಂದಿತ್ತು!!

Dear Jio,

Two Suggestions:

- Most Indians have Wifi access. Senior Citizens use Wifi mostly. Please provide an affordable 1 GB per day plan with options to choose (28 days onwards). Also a yearly plan.

- Provide affordable Voice only plans for less than ₹100 every month. Anything above this is forcing people to take data, even if they don't need it.

There are many who use only voice and also less than 1 GB per day. Need inclusive plans. Let users decide.

It was clear even before the survey began that 7 crore people across 2 crore households can’t be covered in just 15 days.

Now, the Karnataka Congress Government has extended Dasara vacations for government schools, which will open only after Deepavali.

This move keeps government school students away from classrooms for almost a month, while other schools function normally - putting lakhs of students in a clear disadvantage.

This entire exercise could have been done systematically during the summer break - without disrupting education, without confusion.

But instead, this shoddily planned survey is burning public money just to please egos and serve vested interests.
