@Urban_Connector Two car to one car household here. Living in the suburbs, but managing just fine! 30min walk into the downtown area. Been great for exercise!
YIMBYism seems extreme because most don't realize how radical last century of land-use planning has been.
We rejected millennia of knowledge about how our built environments should be laid to accommodate driving, and now slightly rolling back those changes seems revolutionary.
@Jonathan_Maus@BikePortland People really be angry at the stupiest crap. ๐ "Someone transporting themselves differently than ME?!?! ๐คฌ๐ก I need to show them who's boss!" *Throws coke out window* Just another day of owning the libs.
This level of threat against our communities is an act of vehicular terrorism. Our cities have a responsibility to protect all road users - especially our most vulnerable! Infrastructure should protect against car violence - bollards, speed bumps, trees, etc.
Sharrows are not bike lanes. Sharrows are not bike lanes. Sharrows are not bike lanes. Sharrows are not bike lanes. Sharrows are not bike lanes. Sharrows are not bike lanes. Sharrows are not bike lanes. Sharrows are not bike lanes. Sharrows are not bike lanes.
@chadmccullough Imagine a stop sign giving you a piece of candy every time you stopped at it. Same energy. Drivers can be respectful of peds for taking the extra 10 seconds for them to cross. No encouragement is needed here. Cars do not own the roads - they belong to us all.
@CaseyKulla Sheriffs are elected right? And police chiefs are typically appointed by elected officials, so it really comes down to making sure PEOPLE VOTE. I totally understand where Athul is coming from, but I'm not sure he presents a strong enough reason for me to be against it.
Why are ppl still so concerned about having green grass in summer? It's such a waste of water - something we're rapidly running out of. Yellow grass is seasonal! Like leaves turning colors on a tree, let your grass be water free!
NEW! If you ride your bike to the library and forget your bike lock, we have you covered. There are 3 bike locks to check out during open hours. When you are finished, return the lock to the first floor checkout desk. Please return the locks 30 minutes before we close.
