NASA Astronaut Mike Hopkins has retired after a career of 14 years that included 334 days in space and five spacewalks. Most recently he served as commander of NASA’s SpaceX Crew-1 mission to the @Space_station in 2020.
“For over 60 years, NASA has been changing the world, demonstrating that nothing is impossible when people and nations work together. For myself and my family, it has been a privilege to be a very small part of this amazing organization as it leads humanity’s journey to the stars. “I have loved being an astronaut and leaving the corps was the hardest decision I’ve ever made. To my crewmates, fellow astronauts, and the entire NASA family, thank you for an incredible 14 years and Godspeed.” -Mike Hopkins https://t.co/3e9J7YiETm

My first EVA (Extravehicular Activity) was an incredible life experience. The team in mission control @NASA_Johnson was superb. The 1A power channel is now 10kW more powerful. Looking forward to doing it again this week.
The next Russian EVA (VKD-59) is scheduled for June 22. The main goal of Sergei Prokopiev and Dmitry Petemin's work in space will be the the installation and activation of the airlock installed on Nauka module during the previous spacewalk.
We're always thankful for those who help keep ARISS running including all our teams behind the scenes. We couldn't do it without those hard workers, our great sponsors and supporters like you.
