Both are sexual coercion of female police officers. One enshrines that coercion in law thanks to Naomi Long and the Alliance Party. Female police officers should be safe from harassment from men instead this is state sanctioned abuse. /end
On the same day a male police officer is sacked for touching a female police officers buttock @naomi_long launched revised PACE guidance that coerces female police officers to intimately search male suspects on the word of the suspected criminal that he is a woman. /1
Today, I am launching Phoenix Publications Ltd - an independent press for gender critical and other writers who refuse to be cancelled, censored or quietly dropped by a publishing industry that has lost its nerve.
Setting this company up is not something I had in mind 35 years ago when I became an academic. The last few years has taught me that there is a demand for intellectually independent, critical and engaging books, memoirs, testimonials, short form books and other non-fiction. It has also taught me that the audience for gender critical work is huge and hungry.
So, welcome to my publishing house.

Trans women are men. All of them. It is impossible for a woman to be a trans woman. What you propose means women losing their sex-based rights. Those are the rights under discussion.
If you want to campaign for trans-identified men to have their own spaces away from other men, have at it. But you don’t want that, which proves that your priority isn’t those men’s safety. What you want is for women to sacrifice their safety, privacy and dignity to validate men’s identities. You are, in short, a men’s rights activist who berates women for saying no to your fellow men.
Thank you so much @SeeRedWoman1 for coming up to Stormont today for a chat & cup of coffee with me. What an absolute legend this woman is and more power to you👍👍👍
There can now be no doubt that it is unlawful and frankly cruel to house men in womens prisons. No risk assessment will ever make it ok. We call on @naomi_long and @Justice_NI to immediately remove any guidance that allows this.
@gordonlyons1 and @CommunitiesNI - are you aware and have you asked @ArtsCouncilNI to investigate? The Belfast Telegraph article is very concerning. If this didn’t involve ‘gender identity’ this matter would been addressed. The Arts should be inclusive of women and children.
The arts should challenge, not enable, harm. Normalising figures like McCombe in publicly funded spaces is unacceptable. I expect a substantive response and urge you to uphold basic standards of decency and public safety.
Please investigate and act. NI deserves better from ACNI.
• A public statement clarifying your safeguarding policies regarding individuals with histories of sexual offending against minors.
• Assurance that future funded projects will prioritise victim protection over uncritical “celebration.”
I request:
• A full review of funding decisions for projects involving Thomas Wells that platform McCombe.
• Transparency on what public funds (yours, National Lottery, or others you distribute) supported this exhibition and related events.
