#IPCC's 2022 #ClimateReport shows heatwaves in Europe will become more frequent, more intense & will last longer.
By 2050, about half of the European population may be exposed to high or very high risk of heat stress during summer.

@CNRS_INSU@CNRSIdFSud@uvsq@CEA_Officiel@EPFL@Polytechnique#PressRelease 🗞️ From early December 2024 until mid-January 2025, a series of observation systems will be deployed by the AWACA project in Antarctica.
These systems will help better predict the future of the Antarctic ice cap in a hotter climate.

Introducing Willow, our new state-of-the-art quantum computing chip with a breakthrough that can reduce errors exponentially as we scale up using more qubits, cracking a 30-year challenge in the field. In benchmark tests, Willow solved a standard computation in <5 mins that would take a leading supercomputer over 10^25 years, far beyond the age of the universe(!).
Had a great time presenting our work on kilometre-scale climate modelling at the 3rd DestinE User Exchange Meeting! 🌍 Shared how we’re using kilometre-scale simulations to build storylines of extreme events.

Ongoing 2nd major spell of #Monsoon2024 season over #Kerala will further intensify for the next 48 hours and continue until July 19. The most intense spells (over 14+ cm/day) are expected in the Malabar area, hilly regions, and a few locations in central Kerala(1/2)

Convective and orographic cloud cover is increasing along the west coast of India. Dirunal upslope winds in the background of large scale monsoon wind strengthening has intensified cloud cover and rainfall. Kerala is seeing intense clouds. Monsoon circulation is strengthening.
The first major rains of the #Monsoon2024 season are set to begin over #Kerala. Continuous/B2B heavy rains are expected from June 22-27, with isolated extreme rains expected in Central and North #Kerala, posing a moderate rain threat at scattered locations #KeralaRains

🇮🇳 through NCPOR (@ncaor_goa) under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (@moesgoi), will host the 46th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting & 26th Meeting of the Committee for Environmental Protection in #Kochi, Kerala, from May 20-30, 2024.
With this video, I’m launching a national health movement against false marketing in packaged food!
This time I’m not alone. Many influencers, celebrities, doctors and sports stars have UNITED to fight against false marketing!
Every week we hear of a new food issue affecting the country! Infant milk sugar, children’s health drinks, Indian chips having palm oil and the masala-cancer issue are just a few of them.
If the majority of Indians started reading labels, companies would be forced to stop false marketing and give us better quality food!
I invite the entire country to pledge to start reading labels now.
Let us all unite to make India the health capital of the world instead of the diabetes capital of the world!
Label Padhega India, tabhi toh swasth banega India!
Let’s break the internet.

IMD predicts 2024 southwest monsoon season (June to September) rainfall over the country as a whole to be above normal (>104% of the Long Period Average (LPA)). Seasonal rainfall is likely to be 106% of LPA with a model error of ± 5%. LPA of monsoon rainfall (1971-2020) is 87 cm.
