I keep forgetting that @VirginAtlantic and @Delta are the worst couple ever. If you book through one and (unfortunately) get a codeshare on the other, you can’t upgrade (or rebook) to upper class/ delta one even if there is a space left.

@Delta : first I was too early and then too late for a (paid) upgrade at AMS because the systems don’t talk to each other across KLM and Delta. If that’s the case why not have delta crew (systems) at the airport so as to not penalise the customers who are first come first serve?
