the most SF thing is when you tell someone what you're building and their first response is naming 3 companies doing something similar
not "that's cool" not "how does it work" just "oh so like [competitor] + [competitor]?"
the best part of building your own dev tool is you become your own power user
I use the thing I'm building 50+ times a day and every time something is slow or annoying I fix it the same afternoon
that loop never gets old
we’re back
post-YC we pivoted (more on that soon) and went heads down for a month.
found a problem space we care enough to die solving, finally hit +ve MRR and got absolutely roasted when our server went down for a couple hours
now we’re walking around SF onboarding people.
first one was at 8pm with a DJ set,
second one crashed our sandbox server, feels good to be back into fire
if you’re pivoting and confused, DMs are open, would love to help in any way I can
📅 @Iriscalv0 is unified personal assistant can connects to Gmail, Google Calendar, Maps, and more to understand what you're working on, who you're meeting, and where you need to be. Turn your logistics on autopilot!
One of the more beautifully design apps I've seen. Get it on iOS and Android: https://t.co/uYLLOqT83O
- Deep integrations with Gmail, Calendar, and Maps APIs
- A hybrid reasoning engine that blends deterministic logic with LLM-based understanding
- Per-user neural models (inspired by early Siri) that adapt to each user’s preferences and routines
- Built in React Native with real-time streaming orchestration
@pioneer_fund is super excited to back @sidnlad and @Sampear_12 on their journey.
“As long as you have some core of users who love you, all you have to do is expand it. It may take a while, but as long as you keep plugging away, you'll win in the end.”
Paul Graham on How Not to Die:
Iris is one of @ycombinator’s top 100 Consumer Startups!
Seeing @Iriscalv0 next to companies like Airbnb, Reddit, DoorDash, Instacart etc is unreal.
Two months ago, we were reading old Siri research papers, trying to prove a simple idea - that the next wave of AI assistants will be built on determinism, indexed memory, and per-user intent, not just prompts.
We’re still early, but we will build the future of personal AI. Stay tuned :)
Iris is building an AI personal assistant - I've been waiting for this product for years. It's still early, but what they've built so far is super promising. Check it out!

Meet Iris, your personal assistant built into your calendar and inbox. She takes care of the busywork: scheduling, replying, moving meetings, and keeping your day organized so you can finally stop copy-pasting emails into GPT and actually get things done.
Now available on the App Store: https://t.co/d7G1LLRiTj
Every weekend, we bring together our early users to hang out, build, and create the future of personal AI.
Most people come for Iris and end up staying for the friendships.
If you’re in SF, come by!
