My message to young people, civil society & other climate activists:
You're on the right side of history.
You speak for the majority.
Keep it up. Don’t lose hope.
It’s We the Peoples vs. the polluters and the profiteers.
Together, we can win.
Rafah: a city of children.
Hundreds of thousands of them are sick, living with disabilities, malnourished or traumatized.
The children of Gaza need a ceasefire NOW.
A full military incursion into Rafah will plunge the crisis into unprecedented levels of humanitarian need. A ceasefire is urgently needed for the sake of humanity. #Gaza
Watch the speech from 2024 Goldman Award recipient @ahndrayuhhh. Linking her community's fight for clean air to a global supply chain of extraction, to the struggle for Palestinian liberation...
This is the beating heart of the climate justice movement we need.
2 weeks ago I met Achinthya at prospective students weekend @PrincetonSPIA. My conversation with her led me to commit to grad school there.
This morning, I woke up to the news that @Princeton has evicted and banned her.
I shared this message in the SPIA admin slack:
Six months on, the Israeli military campaign has brought relentless death & destruction to Gaza.
Lives shattered. Children dying for lack of food & water.
This is incomprehensible & entirely avoidable.
Nothing can justify the collective punishment of the Palestinian people.
Al-Shifa hospital in #Gaza this morning, following the end of the latest Israeli siege.
I repeat: hospitals must be respected and protected; they must not be used as battlefields.
The mainstream climate movement's inability to call for ceasefire or even utter a single word of solidarity amidst a live-streamed genocide...I'll never forget it.
It's a silence that screams "your cause is not our cause. your pain is not part of our movement"
Everyone deserves to be safe.
Every mother in Gaza.
Every child in Gaza.
Every grandparent in Gaza.
Every patient in Gaza
Every health worker in Gaza.
Every vulnerable person in Gaza.
#CeasefireNOW
Blocking @UNRWA from delivering food is in fact denying starving people the ability to survive. This decision must be urgently reversed. The levels of hunger are acute. All efforts to deliver food should not only be permitted but there should be an immediate acceleration of food deliveries.
"I carry the voices of the vast majority of the world who have seen enough.
Who have had enough.
And who still believe that human dignity & decency must define us as a global community.
It’s our only hope."

#SOTU The only ceasefire that is morally acceptable is a lasting ceasefire.
It is inhumane to pause the violence for 6 weeks and then continue sending bombs right after. #CeasefireNow
People in Gaza are starving to death.
Famine is imminent in the north & the entire population of Gaza is facing crisis levels of food insecurity or worse.
More details from @WFP: https://t.co/A8Pi33M9Ak
The imminent famine in the northern part of Gaza is an entirely manmade disaster.
I repeat my call for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.
We must act now to prevent the unthinkable, the unacceptable, the unjustifiable.
When is enough enough?
A full 5 months of hellish conditions in #Gaza:
Almost 31,000 people have lost their lives, 72,000+ have been injured, thousands are missing
406 attacks on health care
118 health workers are in detention
1 in 3 hospitals is only partially or minimally functional
Disease outbreaks on the rise
Humanitarian access limited
Starvation
Constant bombing
Nowhere to flee
Ceasefire.
