OPEN LETTER TO MOHAMED HADID

Dear Mohamed Hadid,

Your family has repeated in multiple times your version of the Nakba narrative.

You say you were ethnically cleansed in 1948 from the city of Safed, without clarifying that the Syrian army conquered Israel all the way to Kibbutz Mishmar Hayarden, a 27 minute drive from Safed.

You also failed to mention the siege in which the Palestinians of Safed attempted to choke and annihilate the ancient Jewish community of Safed expanding back more than a half a millennium.

You claim your family was ethnically cleansed from Safed despite being born in November of 1948 when the entire city of Safed/ Tzfat fell to Hagana hands on May 11th.

And finally to the most viral part of your family's story: you claim your family invited a Jewish family from Poland into your home and they stole your home from you in 1948. If true, pease name that family so that can be fact checked for the public's benefit.

JD Vance likes to threaten Israel by pointing out how much of our weapons come from the US, but he completely ignores history. This dependency was manufactured by Washington. What does he want us to do, buy our jets from China? Or maybe he wants Israel to build its own?

Let's remind him that back in the 1980s, Israel was developing the Lavi, a fighter jet that would easily be one of the best in the world today. It was the US that pressured and forced Israel to cancel the project because American defense contractors didn't want the competition. You can't force us to shut down our independent fighter jet program to protect US corporate profits, and then turn around and complain that we rely on US jets. If Israel has to fully decouple and build its own platforms again, we can. But don't pretend this dependency wasn't your choice.
