Your Friday sign! Despite security issues, closed ports and issues with banking, supplies and materials, our partner Haiti-CEMARCH universities just keep going on agricultural research, teaching and extension activities. So happy to have these universities as CEMARCH partners.
And last for May 1 activities is our newest CEMARCH ATP partner - Terrier-Rouge Rural Sustainable Development Center, Cap Haitian. They too held an Ag Fair, introducing those in the community to the revitalized CRDD. Look for more great things from this group! @USAID/Haiti
Continuing with May 1 activities, the University of Quisqueya hosted an Ag Fair at their CEMARCH ATP, located in Mirebalais. They introduced attendees to some of the new experimental processed foods, and demonstrated their small machinery work. @USAID/Haiti
Another CEMARCH partner (UNDH - Notre Dame) hosted 80 high school students for a tour of the Ag Tech Park. They also learned about the importance of trees for climate resilience and erosion prevention.
May 1st was Labor Day and Ag Day in Haiti and 5 of our 6 CEMARCH universities had events. First up is the American University of the Caribbean (AUC) who had everything from an invigorating seminar series to tours of the ag park to games and fun for the kids. @USAID/Haiti
