@nickseip@vol_equalizer Sherman is celebrated all over! He's one of the finest Ohioans (though he may have given that title to Sheridan if asked about it).
@nickseip@vol_equalizer Why would they? Sherman is associated with West Point and LSU... and East Tennessee famously fought with the North. In fact East Tennessee is where John Hunt Morgan was killed (after escaping from the Ohio Pen, 3 miles south of where OSU is currently located).
Mitchell Parker has no business in the majors. He's now blown 5 saves in 17 appearances, half way to the all-time team record for blown saves (he's not a closer). Every Nats fan saw that coming when he came in for the 9th. What exactly is going on in the dugout?
@Mikeysurf@MikeRegnell@MarkZuckerman I don't think you've grasped the historic nature of Wednesday's collapse. I agree it's 1 of 162, but each game matters to a young team (and an abused fan base). The coaching staff has to be smarter to keep all the progress going. Ultimately this will be a good test.
@GhostsofDC Excellent article. Bill Collins is a great guy and kept the dream alive for the DC area for nearly two decades. I remember Douglas Jamal being pretty active in the effort in the late 90s as well.
@WeAreAllShack He racked up the most pitching WAR on the Nats in 2024 in spite of only starting 13 games. If healthy, I have no doubt he would be productive under the current regime.
