@markhendy 🤯 The rate of AI development now is insane. Causes us to have to be more precise about what words like “intelligent”, “think” and “sentient” mean. Also words like “exciting” and “terrifying” 😂
@annimaniac Working in person appears to be much more powerful than remotely. But ONLY if people want to be there. Therefore it is business owners’ responsibility to make it more enjoyable and rewarding to work in person.
@NikkiAndBunty @N_Polderman Yeah, some can be. We hire really carefully for just wonderful human beings, who care about other people and about doing something extraordinary with likeminded people ❤️. https://t.co/pBhUlqixjU
Henry Ford is famed to have once said that if he’d asked his customers what they wanted they would have said: “faster horses”. But...

@N_Polderman PS. Our work force is around 52% women. This is purely by chance and I wasn’t aware of the statistic until just now. We hire for merit, not gender split.
@N_Polderman Totally agree. Didn’t take offence. I just don’t see how the ad would put-off rockstars with a huge intellectual bandwidth who happen to be women? I don’t want to specifically attract women or men. Just those with enormous intellect irrespective of gender.
@N_Polderman Definitely want to put off those not right for the role. Their gender is unimportant. Decoder only complained about “intellectual”, being masculine. Seems insulting to many exceptionally smart feminine people I’ve worked with. Plus masculine / feminine are not “gender” specific
So precise and wonderfully succinctly analogous to “1% inspiration, 99% perspiration”. There are some problems where even that ratio would be a welcome relief!
@ruskin147 It is unfortunately common for many in academia to overweight the value of ideas & underweight bringing them to fruition. For example, the idea of going to the moon is trivial, but going to the moon is hard.
Just stumbled on this video we did celebrating 10 years in #wrc. Brought back some great memories with a great team of people ❤️ https://t.co/YOxEJWqbpm
