Swedish Eritrean journalist #DawitIsaak has received the prestigious @Edelstam prize.
The EU and @SweMFA must redouble their efforts to free the longest imprisoned journalist in the world and his colleagues; 23 years without charge or trial.
@FreeDawit
If you know who you are and what you stand for, they cannot humiliate you.
Here is @AlinejadMasih transmuting the IRGC's ridiculous attempt at a smear campaign into humour and power- yet another act of witchy defiance!
Being an activist takes magic!

There, this is me walking in the streets of Tehran.
😡💃🏾
This video was made by pro-regime media at a rally to humiliate me. Who cares if you see me as a witch or devil? We are the most beautiful women because we dare to defy your barbaric rules.
It’s both funny and tragic that when you label us as devils, you think it justifies eliminating us from society. This is why you kill women for showing their hair, like #MahsaAmini and recently ArezooBadri, was shot in her car and left paralyzed for not wearing a hijab. Yes we are your nightmares, and we will not be silenced.
Behind every #politicalprisoner's plight is the pain of their beloveds, who must somehow carry on. @RayhanAsat, your brother deserves to be free and you to be celebrating your birthday with him!
We will keep advocating for his release. #UyghurGenocide#FreeEkpar
It’s my birthday. I used to love it. I stopped celebrating it for years bc my brother could not celebrate in China’s concentration camps. Sometimes friends insist that we must celebrate for me, him and family. This year was particularly hard as we marked Ekpar’s 8th anniversary.
Thank you, @AmbassadorGreen
for saying it straight: "But if the most tragic part of the crisis in #Sudan is that it was unnecessary and avoidable, then its most shameful element is how little the world seems to care."
#KeepEyesOnSudan
#Sudan is entering the 2nd year of a gruesome civil war. Humanitarian officials estimate that the country needs $2.7 billion in humanitarian assistance this year, but only 18% has been raised. #StubbornThings

Bravo to @yusufzine & team for telling the story of Huseyin Celil, Canadian citizen & Uyghur kidnapped 18 yrs ago & illegally detained in a Chinese concentration camp since. This gripping investigation showcases the Chinese prison state & Canada's failure to protect its own.

The #IRGCterrorists are finally listed by #Canada as terrorists. Here's my colleague Brandon Silver on one of many very good reasons why: they oppress journalists at home & abroad. 👏 to Iranian leaders like @IranIntl_En and @AlinejadMasih for speaking for truth for Iranians!
By listing the #IRGC as a #Terrorist Entity, Canada is demonstrating its firm commitment to supporting Iranians in their quest for justice, human rights, and accountability.

We remain committed to advancing #humanrights and #justice in #Sudan, calling on Canada to act decisively to prevent further suffering and uphold international humanitarian norms.

We must stop the disturbing pattern of impunity in #Sudan and protect civilian lives now.
The #genocide in #Darfur persists and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that history does not repeat itself.
Darfur is not getting nearly the coverage it needs or merits, so I'm grateful we could run this: The Darfur Genocide Demands International Action and Accountability https://t.co/DM2nmDxENi
Brilliant piece by @EwelinaUO in @Forbes today, asking the same question we @TheRWCHR have been asking ourselves since publishing our landmark report evidencing an ongoing - and likely escalating - #genocide in #Darfur. #KeepEyesOnSudan

"Fourth, the international community as a whole is obligated to end complicity in and halt the genocide. Despite these concerning findings, States and the international community more broadly continue to ignore the issue."
Kudos and thank you to @just_security for featuring this piece by my colleagues @mutasimali3 and @yonahdiamond on the escalating genocide and spiralling humanitarian crisis in #Darfur. Its not too late to shake off our empathy deficit & take action. #KeepEyesOnSudan
"It is nearly impossible to overstate the global indifference and inaction in the face of ongoing devastating mass atrocities in #Sudan," write @mutasimali3 and @yonahdiamond.
“Imminent risk of #genocide” in #Darfur.
