@Thomas_Redacted@MTGraveStudio Your characters have archetypes. You did not create those archetypes. Originality comes in how you use those archetypes to trigger reactions in the viewer. A truly original character would be unfamiliar to viewers and less effective in triggering those reactions.
My movie’s North American trailer just dropped on Rue Morgue:

If this movie makes $100 million, I’ll probably get a few million of that and I promise to share it with our art director who doesn’t exist b/c we couldn’t afford to spend another $6700.
@BrianMcquery@VanTheBrand That’s what separates the cast & crew who are prepared from the cast & crew who are unprepared. The former will have shorter days; the latter longer days. And that applies to everyone from producer to PA.

In the Summer of 1987, after a perfect day at the lake, two small-town teenagers are stuck with a broken-down car and in a fight for their lives when they cross paths with a violent stalker.
@Hwdgfly@JoePeabody@Big_Mark_Photo How did you come to the conclusion that $10m is the same as $10k?
I don’t know what poorfaces means. I’m an adult so I’m not familiar with the current schoolyard lingo.
@JoePeabody@Big_Mark_Photo@Hwdgfly “Independent” means “not funded by a studio.” It doesn’t matter where else the financing came from. Not from a studio = independent.
Whether a budget is shoestring or not depends on what you’re trying to achieve and how you’re trying to achieve it.
@minhsmind There was. They were paid what they agreed to be paid. The movie could’ve bombed and they’d still have been paid what they agreed to be paid.
@SpaceBoy458 If you’ve been exhibiting movies long enough and tracked tf out of subscriber behaviour, you can ballpark projections for how much revenue a new movie with tracked attachments will likely generate.
@ChrisAlvino@mikeastahl You don’t know that you’re “underpaid” until the movie does well which is in the future when you agree to a work for hire. It could have bombed and they’d still be getting 6K. I think they’ll book more gigs b/c they were a key on this one.
