@danohagan Sad that proper proper legends of my youth like Baresi and Schillaci have died. Baresi proved that you don’t need to be big, strong, quick to be a great defender, you just need to know what you’re doing. A genius equal to any of the attacking legends of the era in his own way.
@ammattipyoraily For 2 of 3 years downtube shifters for front and brake lever rear to save weight was quite common until the brake levers got a bit lighter. Didn’t realise anyone was still on double downtube as late as ‘95 but I understand Pantani was obsessed by weight savings.
@KarlBrophy I don’t think it’s a “my dad is harder than your dad” game. Hacking a team halfway across the world and back twice in a fortnight is unnecessary and tone deaf for a number of reasons. There must be a better way for the health of players and the planet.
@SuneMadsen86 Doubtless it’s impressive and it’s not his fault but it’s not great racing is it? It’s just total domination and it gets a bit dull after a time. There’s not much fun in playing the same song again. Seeing him try to win Roubaix and San Remo has been brilliant. This is not.
@BlackScarfMarc@terryflewers He had the better of the defender and put his leg and body there to shield the ball before swiping it into the top corner.
@pmuraus@LukaUpdates Not really no. I just want to see good absorbing racing that interests and excites me. MSR, Roubaix - bloody brilliant. Flanders, Liege, crap. Giro (and most likely the tour this year), crap. Cyclo cross with VDP dominant. Crap.
@KaneIrv @jsaywardjones Another thing worth remembering is that Mexico have spread their 5 games over 6 days more than England. Add the altitude in and the physical requirements of this tactic and it makes a bit more sense. It was a shit situation to be in and Tuchel dealt with it pretty well all told.
@AlexBrownvecv@davidyelland Nope. Most of us are fucking fed up of being an afterthought. The only time politicians get interested is when they need a vote.
