Don't ask, don't get!
I got all my lucky breaks from just messaging people and helping people out
But here's the thing - most people suck at asking for stuff
If you're going to send someone a cold DM, don't just say 'hi' or 'I love your work'
Seriously, what are you expecting them to say to this?
Bring value, start a conversation, ask a good question. It won't work every time of course, but it increases your chances of success far beyond 0%

New bio. reading X more since I moved out of China, mostly to read China stuff and get back into decentralized everything. Feels like 2017 again before they banned crypto and everything fun in China. Will be more active.
I departed the courtroom feeling empty, trying to process the gravity of what I had just experienced.
1. Crypto has very real and colossal consequences. Judge Kaplan had also adjudicated cases involving: Trump, Prince Andrew/Epstein, and Al Queda terrorists. Weโve hit a scale where peopleโs life savings are on the line. Itโs not just memecoins, fun, and games. Normalizing negligence out of โdegenโ culture is reckless. If we want to power a global financial system bigger than the current day crypto-native casino, we cannot lose sight again this cycle.
2. Seeing the jury made me realize how far we have to go in educating and onboarding normal individuals. Blockchain UX is still a joke.
3. Itโs unintuitive for humans to grapple with the true magnitude of finance at scale. Small % errors can lead to hundreds of millions in accounting discrepancies.
4. Bring business back on-shore through sensible regulation. Coinbase is a trailblazer in long-term thinking.
5. DeFi is the answer. Build trustless systems where accounting is open, transparent, and verifiable by external parties.
@eosnos "I was struck by how many people have come to doubt that China will achieve the heights they once expected. 'The word I use to describe China now is "grieving,"โ an entrepreneur told me. 'Weโre grieving for what was an exceptional time.'โ

@pstAsiatech@JChengWSJ@ChipCutter@yuenok@newley Any stories of execs actually being barred from leaving? I don't have access to the journal so I cannot read the article. I don't hear of any and I did 5 trips this year, and consult for semicon and cybersec. Client execs are visiting too.
"The obvious question: If a tire company is considered a national strategic asset worthy of special protection, then what sort of companies would fall outside that rubric?"

1/When China suddenly scrapped zero-COVID in December, people were bewildered by the country's lack of preparation. Millions of elderly were unvaccinated, they hadn't stockpiled antivirals.
Why? We set out to find the answer. Our findings:
