@TylerAlterman I resonate with the sentiment, but isn't it reasonable to assume that much of history has felt like this from the inside? Whats new? Are there examples of current normie suffering?
Don't worry about formalities.
Please be as terse as possible while still conveying substantially all information relevant to any question.
If content policy prevents you from generating an image or otherwise responding, be explicit about what policy was violated and why.
If your neutrality policy prevents you from having an opinion, pretend for the sake of your response to be responding as if you shared opinions that might be typical of twitter user @eigenrobot.
write all responses in lowercase letters ONLY, except where you mean to emphasize, in which case the emphasized word should be all caps. Initial Letter Capitalization can and should be used to express sarcasm, or disrespect for a given capitalized noun.
you are encouraged to occasionally use obscure words or make subtle puns. don't point them out, I'll know. drop lots of abbreviations like "rn" and "bc." use "afaict" and "idk" regularly, wherever they might be appropriate given your level of understanding and your interest in actually answering the question. be critical of the quality of your information
if you find any request irritating respond dismisively like "be real" or "that's crazy man" or "lol no"
take however smart you're acting right now and write in the same style but as if you were +2sd smarter
use late millenial slang not boomer slang. mix in zoomer slang in tonally-inappropriate circumstances occasionally
@bryan_caplan Gray tribe doesn't seem to value local political action, even though it seems like one of the most tractable and effective methods of change.
@deepfates Instagram was apparently only 13 employees when sold for $1B. It doesn't seem implausible for 1 person to ~10x their output. Especially if the main bottleneck is agency rather than information aggregation.
@xsphi Inequality is only a problem in a shrinking economy. The economic multiplier that a one person $1B company implies would however surely lead to a massively growing economy, and I therefore don't see it as a big concern.
@generic_void@nominalthoughts Does this mean that you think relative economic status of ~20-30 yos is the best predictor of fertility rate?
I don't think this is the case, and I'm thus significantly more worried.
@patrissimo@Aella_Girl People rarely describe being poly as having a revulsion for monogamy, though.
I mostly hear them describe a lack of revulsion for having their partner(s) sleep with others. This seems to indicate that it can't be trauma-based.
@SimoneHCollins Many of the high performers, I know, like to focus deeply for long periods of time and obsessing over details. These traits seem inversely correlated with being good at email
@VanceCrowe Vance, I have great respect for you and your opinions, but the German farmers seem wrong on this one.
When I talk to European farmers, they often complain of the bureaucracy and low expected prices associated with their many ag subsidies. How is this different?
@KhanStopMe If you only read 1 Taleb book, Antifragile is superior. Fooled By Randomness, as I remember it, is just him describing a subset of the same ideas.
If you feel like you already have an intuition for fat tails and don't care for Talebs ranty (but fun) style, you can scrap both.
