🇨🇳 THINKING OF VISITING CHINA? ANIMAL LOVERS, PLEASE READ.

China has an extraordinary amount to offer tourists. Thousands of years of history, breathtaking landscapes, incredible food, and fascinating cities.

But there is a darker side that animal lovers should know about.

China still lacks a comprehensive national law against animal cruelty. Deliberately torturing a dog or cat is not, by itself, a criminal offense under national law. As a result, perpetrators of horrific abuse can escape punishment.

🐕 Wang Wang, a mother dog, was brutally killed and reportedly burned alive in June 2026. Her three puppies were murdered alongside her.

🐈 Fireball (Miiko), a kitten just two months old, was reportedly tortured and skinned alive. Her suffering was filmed and circulated online.

These are just two stories among countless victims of animal cruelty. The true scale of the suffering is unknown.

And without meaningful legal protections, many perpetrators face little or no accountability.

If you’re considering visiting China, I ask you to think about this before booking your trip.

Tourism brings billions of dollars into China’s economy every year. Where we choose to spend our money is a personal decision, but it’s worth considering the values and practices we’re willing to overlook.

China has made extraordinary progress in so many areas. Yet its most vulnerable animals remain without basic protections against deliberate cruelty.

Please consider that reality when deciding where to spend your tourism dollars.

This is the first part of the torture inflicted on a kitten by two minors, which I previously posted.
One filmed while the other carried it out.

They repeatedly forced the kitten’s face into the dirty pond water. Each time it was lifted out, the kitten struggled desperately to escape the boy’s grip.

The audio is unclear, so some of the quoted wording below is tentative.

“Fuck.” “Shit.”
“It can’t get away.”
“It’s still breathing.”
“Keep going.”
“Do you understand?”
“Trying to escape.”
“Idiot.”
“Keep going, keep going.”

I love children. I believe they are precious and carry humanity’s future.

That is precisely why I believe adults and society must take this seriously and respond firmly when children take pleasure in tormenting those weaker than themselves.

Cruelly abusing and killing animals must not be overlooked simply because those responsible are minors.

Parents, teachers, police officers, psychiatrists and others must work with these children over time. A warning alone is not enough. Action is needed to stop the abuse and prevent it from happening again.

I do not believe that shielding children excessively and avoiding accountability protects them.

China needs a law to prevent animal cruelty.
A society that allows children to see animal abuse as entertainment should be ashamed.

Atención @AlcaldiaItagui. Ciudadanos denuncian que el personal de este restaurante de pollo asado ubicado en la calle 50 Nº 51 le lanzó agua caliente a un perrito callejero hambriento que ingresó al local 😠

Según los denunciantes, los empleados se reían mientras realizaban la acción.
Aunque el perrito no tuviera permitido estar dentro, es aberrante que usaran agua caliente para ahuyentarlo.
Se necesita apoyo para llevar al perrito a atención veterinaria e investigar la denuncia.
