Tell a doctor jokingly that you want your kids to study medicine - and they'll say NO PLEASE DON'T!
This field seems to be one of the most toxic spaces ever and we expect Doctors to come out and be polite, kind and patient to people who visit the hospital.
Also - this field is the one with so many cases of sexual abuse harassment and assault that gets covered up due to the power structure.
The moment I received this CCTV picture from GMC Bhavnagar (Gujarat), my mind froze for a moment thinking how mentally and physically devastated these Orthopaedic surgery resident doctors must have felt at this moment when they were made a murgha openly in the Operation Theatre.
Every NEET UG and PG aspirant and their parents must watch this to open their eyes regarding this over glorified profession in India .

A 90s childhood somehow always had Asha ji in it.
From Dekha Teri Mast Nigahon Mein to the songs of Bekhudi. From Bichhoo O Bichhoo to Yeh Raat Aur Ye Doori and Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Main. From Tanha Tanha to Le Gayi. From Kahin Aag Lage to Kambakht Ishq. And then, discovering her incredible range from long before the 90s.
Her voice didn't just sing, it has stayed ever since.
Will always cherish her discography. Thank you for growing up with us Asha ji.
Rest in music. 🙏❤️
A part of the Indian media and proportion of the public in general expect doctors to take harsh beatings and aggression, and swallow verbal abuses, since being a doctor in India means they are always taken for granted because they are going to be noble with everything including facing violence.
Because the decades long narrative in India is that doctors are looters, they are slaves to pharma and that they are always at your service. People call doctors business members, but expect a quick and free whatsapp consultation.
People are confused. But here is clarity.
The oath, "Do No Harm" is only for the treatments delivered, not to stay silent or play dead when rascals including violent patients attack intentionally and irrationally.
The uncles in regulatory and authority positions are incompetent to see both sides because they are boomers who have zero rational thoughts.
I am happy for the doctor who lost his job "illogically" after serving people for 8 long years. Gives him the freedom to choose something better. Go somewhere better. Do something better. Because do not expect anything from this pseudoscience loving hell hole of a country as a doctor, because you can never find gratitude here.
Times have changed.
Doctors are humans too.
Tread lightly.
Somebody needs to show this to the world: the kind of VIP treatment politicians, journalists & media folks expect is insane. I’ve seen ultra rich, multi millionaires sit quietly & wait their turn, while these vultures pull every string they can, just to bulldoze past systems that exist for a reason & bite into the rights of the underprivileged, at least in my OPD.
And here’s the thing, this isn’t just individual entitlement, it’s a systematic failure. Bcs at the top, even the “top boss” of a hospital is ultimately operating under the whims & fancies of political power. When power rules, protocols become optional, fairness becomes negotiable & healthcare turns into a theatre of influence instead of a public service.
The patient who suffers isn’t the VIP, it’s the ordinary person who came with nothing except trust in the system.
