Take Dr. Erickson’s Coursera courses to start with fundamentals. Start building, small. 20W-50W. Work your way up. It’s an intersection of everything electrical, and lots to learn, years and years.
Don’t beat yourself up for not knowing a ton starting out. I still barely know anything and I’ve been in it for 4-5 years, I started later in my career. kW converters are no joke, they come with their own unique problems.
You’ll get there, never stop building.
Different topology for us though. High voltage high power application.
GaN is great for low voltage stuff, they just don’t merit implementation in a high voltage power stage yet. They need to optimize the material further for lower RDSon at higher VDSmax.
I’m not a physicist or chemist or any of that other retard shit though. Not my job. So, SiC it is
@zackslab@i2cjak Match your output inductors. Match your output paths. We’re having trouble with this right now at work, different topology but same concept. It’s a bitch to debug
