The ultimate goal is getting paid to be yourself. To solve problems you can't help but solve. To study what you can't pull yourself away from. To eliminate any work that does not challenge you creatively.
The positive future is not humans defeating AI or AI replacing humans.
Instead, it's humans using intelligence that never sleeps to build a civilization worthy of waking up to.
If you want to start a startup, don't learn "entrepreneurship." Learn how to build things. The hard part of startups is not "entrepreneurship" but product: to know what to build, and to be able to build it.

Agents are tools but they're more like fire than a wrench. Have you ever really looked at a furnace? The job of 90% of that mass is to contain the fuel/fire, and to stop it when something goes wrong. Agents need so much containment.
People complain about corporate "short-termism", "chasing quarterly profits" and so on but what makes them really angry, what truly enrages them beyond all reason, is seeing corporations with an actual long-term vision willing to endure years of losses in pursuit of a goal.
The bitter lesson in 26 words:
Don’t be distracted by human knowledge, as AI has been historically.
Instead focus on methods for creating knowledge that scale with computation, like search and learning.
Adjacent to this: never has there been a time where making pure software for *yourself* been a greater point of leverage. You get to upgrade your own importance in the universe while many are barely aware of how to use AI to its full potential.
To solve any problem, you don't have to be super smart. You just have to 1) be able to break down problems into subproblems, 2) be slightly smarter than the hardest of the atomic subproblems.
The real challenge is that the process can take a very long time.
As measured by GDP, AI will be super undervalued.
How would the datacenter of geniuses show up in GDP?
GDP would show raw inputs (aka chip & energy), and raw outputs (aka cost of tokens). But wouldn't clearly reflect the value of the crazy new shit that's being cooked up in those tokens.
Similar problem to how the Internet's value is undercounted today (since many products are free, and thus contribute nothing to measured GDP).
Perhaps the best way to measure the size of the future AI economy will just be our civilization's total energy use.

The play right now is to go deep in a vertical and build AI Agents with the context of the critical workflows, domain expertise, specialized instructions, and data of that industry. And build anticipating what’s possible with AI models in a year from now, not just today.

There's something deep and borderline unintuitive about most real-world problems just happening to be (informally) NP-Complete: hard to solve but easy to verify a solution to. It's this asymmetry that makes progress possible, as culture can record previous computational work.
