Come see the talk at G05, LHC at 6:15 PM on 11th Feb, 2026!
It's going to be a fascinating talk on how it's not just gravity affecting the dance of a star with its planets

Ever wondered how matter spirals into black holes and powers the universe?
Join us for an exciting MS Student Talk on Accretion by Deep Kasar (20MS) where he unravels the basics behind one of the most powerful processes in astrophysics!
Don't miss it !!
Hello Stargazers,
We are back again with another stellar talk by our own Prof. Kousik Dutta.
Topic :* Exploring the state of the universe: A fascinating journey
π£ Speaker:Prof. Kousik Dutta
π Date:2nd April (Today)
β° Time: 7:15 PM
π Venue:M N Saha, TRC
So here is a small appreciation post for the Founders of Singularity. Consider it a sweet farewell of the team as we get ready to welcome a new team on board !!
It has been ONE YEAR of Singularity:
The Astronomy Club of IISER Kolkata and it has been quite the journey, phew! This club is just one year old(can you believe it?) and it already is one of the most active clubs in IISERK!
We never really settled to appreciate the work that the original founding team put in to make this club stand on its own and a new tenure of OBs has already started.
A star gazing session was held at @iiserkol on a cold Friday evening! Students' hands were definitely numb because of the cold weather but their eyes were burning with passion and excitement!

Join us for unlocking the Universe! We are back with an exciting session where this time Mr. Nishant Pradeep Deo will introduce you to radio astronomy.
Are you new in @iiserkol? Are you curious about the stars, space, Universe and everything in it? Come join us tonight for Freshers' orientation to the astronomy club of IISER Kolkata @singularity_ik.

We are back with another exciting student talk. This time with @iiserkol alumnus @Navonil_saha who will shed light on supermassive black hole dynamics.

β° 3:00 - 5:00 pm IST
πMN Saha Auditorium, TRC
Here's a closeup of the bright prominence that many people reported seeing with their naked eye during the eclipse. This was captured using two telescopes- at 2000mm and at 3650mm.
These prominences are part of the solar chromosphere, and normally require a specially modified telescope to view. Not during an eclipse!
Get to learn the fundamentals of high energy phenomena in the universe, through an introductory talk by Dr. Sudip Kumar Garain @iiserkol
Happening in less than an hour! See you then and there.
