Excited to share our latest work from the Sinha Lab @ INST Mohali, together with Dr. Deepak Sharma @ IMTECH Chandigarh, just published in Nanoscale!
We developed charge-sensitive gold nanoclusters to distinguish α-Syn aggregates, a key step toward early Parkinson’s detection.
Our findings:
These nanoclusters show distinct signals based on the type of α-synuclein aggregate they encounter—enabling label-free detection and discrimination.

Bile acids stirring the pot in Parkinson’s? Lithocholic acid (LCA) speeds up α-synuclein clumping by 75%, while deoxycholic acid (DCA) takes a 30% nudge. Together, they’re not exactly brain-friendly!
