Jel to donosi neku prevagu???
@tomislav_soskic@sloboda89120321 Defakto su drzave, i Federacija i Republika Srpska. Imaju svoje institucije. Vanjska pitanja resava BiH ali zato i postoje tri predesadavjuca, radi interesa sva tri naroda
@tomislav_soskic@sloboda89120321 Eto koliko nemas pojma sta pises...Republika Srpska i federacija BiH su ENTITETI unutar Bosne i Hercegovine, plus Distrikt Brcko. Republika Srpska nije entitet unutar fereracije 🤦🤦🤦
We American Serbs also disagree with this judgment. The failure to convict on crimes against humanity is a travesty. All sentences should’ve been life without the possibility of parole. Unfortunately, witnesses mysteriously disappeared, were intimidated, or ended up dead, so this is what we got.
And since you repeatedly portray the KLA simply as some heroic “liberation army,” let’s remember how American officials described it at the time.
In February 1998, U.S. Special Envoy Robert Gelbard explicitly described the Kosovo Liberation Army as “without any question a terrorist group.” A day earlier, he said, “I consider that the UCK(KLA) is a terrorist group by its actions.” The U.S. State Department separately stated that the KLA had committed terrorist acts. That isn’t Serbian propaganda. That is the historical record sitting in the U.S. State Department archives.
The KLA was not simply some spotless “liberation army” fighting the fairy-tale war you are presenting here. It was a radical Islamist terrorist organization that attacked civilians and police of the legitimate Serbian government in Serbia’s southern province of Kosovo and Metohija.
Today, even the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague is dealing with allegations of crimes against hundreds of civilians and people not taking part in hostilities, including Serbs, Roma and Albanians perceived as opponents of the KLA.
And yes, we American Serbs have every reason to talk about The Hague. All Americans should know that the ICTY was a court created to make Serbs look guilty. Its official mandate may have been to prosecute serious violations throughout the former Yugoslavia, and it did prosecute people from other ethnic groups, but that became secondary to what its historical role ultimately became or how selectively justice was administered.
On many levels, this sentencing itself is a sham. Even after everything established about crimes committed by KLA members, there is still no conviction here for crimes against humanity. In the historical context, and viewed from the historical distance of 50 years, that failure will remain part of the record.
And 50 years from now, history cannot be reduced to “SERBIA was the AGGRESSOR; KOSOVA was the VICTIM” written in capital letters on X.
The historical record will have to tell the full story: the story of a terrorist organization that attacked civilians and police of the legitimate Serbian government in its southern province; the murders, kidnappings, torture and persecution associated with KLA members; the Serbian, Roma and Albanian victims; the organ harvesting factories where Serbs were butchered; the witnesses who were intimidated, disappeared or died; and the political interests that helped turn an extraordinarily complicated conflict into the simplistic mythology you are repeating today.
You can call it a “struggle for freedom” as many times as you want. You cannot erase the victims, and you cannot erase the fact that an American official responsible for counterterrorism looked at the KLA in 1998 and publicly called it a terrorist group.
It’s horrible to read statements like this from someone whose organization is called “Albanian Americans for America,” and even worse from someone who was in Congress yesterday listening to reports on the Balkans.
Oh yeah, I forgot. You were there to make sure your money was well spent with two senior members of Congress.
By the way, since you’re lobbying for Kosovo, we all know this sentence actually suits you well and that this is perfect for your boss, Kurti. This is all just a big public charade for your terror-supporting voter bloc overseas, but it comes at the expense of America.
You literally just watched senior KLA figures face judgment in The Hague and your response is to publicly announce that you “stand with the KLA.”
Again, coming from someone whose organization has “For America” in its name.
This is the legacy of the Clintons and of Democratic-led America.
Crazy.
