@retpodcast Looking forward to listening to the episode! Loved this game (for the most part...) when I played it in maybe 2010 or so - and it still did look amazing back then!
@UmbrellaEnt Is free international shipping for orders above AUD 200 disabled for the sale? My cart suddenly shows AUD 45 shipping which was at AUD 0 before the sale ...
@JuliaMinamata Does your game have deliberate dead ends? Like in Sierra style dead-man-walking / soft-lock situations. Actual deaths are fine, of course!! :-)
@retpodcast Curious to find out in the next few days! Though I really loved it back then, I'm not sure I could play it today anymore tbh...
Not only because I think it might have aged less gracefully than some might think, but also because my taste and patience are not the same anymore.
@retpodcast This will be a tough one, I suspect. I loved this game when I played it in 1998 or so. I still have great memories of it, its story and characters. But honestly, I'm not sure if I would want to give it another try today or if I'm better off sticking with the memories...
@retpodcast Only ever played both the DS titles and loved them. So, really looking forward to this episode - especially since I'm planning to play the recent remakes some time in the future. Did you, by any chance, also take a look at these for the sake of comparison?
@retpodcast Nooooooo! The first Crysis (or rather the first half of the first Crysis 😅) was fantastic with its freedom and sandbox design! Unreal had nothing like that - just the graphics.
@retpodcast I only tried it years later as I didnt have a PC for it at the time (I actually tried running it bc I met the min specs and was surprised how smooth it was UNTIL I GOT OUT OF THE CRASHED SHIP 😂), but I couldn't get into it, either. Played a little bit and just found it boring.
@ThomasTheTankM1 Same here, never got into it back then (and I played and loved most, if not all, of the big FPS releases at are time). I remember the keys sometimes were like actual tiny keys lying on some desk. Imagine looking for those with that polygon count and those "realistic" colors...
