Harini Amarasuriya, a woman academic with a doctorate in social anthropology, winning the highest number of preferential votes in Lankan parliamentary history and the first woman to be Prime Minister with no family ties in politics, is a timeless flex every Sri Lankan now has.
Also drawing attention to this guy's academic peers who are otherwise only too happy to interact on this platform with him but are silent when it comes to shutting down their buddy's misogyny
3) The fact an academic from a reputed uni can make sexist remarks publicly and not be taken to task shows leeway men are given and institutional failure to walk the talk. Sexism is normalized and person feels emboldened to say such things knowing there will be no consequences.
@welikalaa What a pathetic and petty little post. Shame on you for belittling an education & career showing long-term commitment to the fulfilment of human dignity. That CV merits confidence & u either wilfully omit or are ignorant of their history of community organisation & leadership
