The Petro dollar runs the world, fullstop. BRICS is a failure and a race to the bottom. The US has been reaffirming their Monroe Doctrine abilities with the movements on Venezuela, and proxied with Iran, Russia and China, controlling, one way or the other, the flow of oil and its derivatives. China, lacking any influence in this fact, has to put its capital into something, and Gold is the next best thing, according to their logic. The US is betting on cryptocurrency/stablecoin instead as the alternative. JMO

President Biden first authorized the use of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) on November 23, 2021, ordering the release of 50 million barrels of crude oil in a coordinated effort with other nations to tamp down rising fuel prices.
Following this initial release, the administration made several more significant drawdowns, including the largest-ever SPR sale of 180 million barrels announced in March 2022 to offset supply shortages caused by the Russia-Ukraine war.
Many even argued this was a performative gesture to help his re-election as well.
