A recent distress call: a student has taken about ₹70L ($80K) debt at 12% to get a master's degree in a small college in the US.

The problem: the job scene in IT is bad, especially so for foreign students and payments on the loan are starting soon.

I don't know what we could do in this situation because we have not been hiring much as we transform ourselves for the AI era. That caution in hiring is also because we have a policy of not resorting to lay-offs.

I urge students and parents to be cautious in borrowing heavily to pursue degrees abroad. Borrowing heavily to pursue degrees in India is unwise too.

I strongly believe we should not trap young people in debt in the name of education. The only smart course is for prospective employers to fund training programs and for the industry to broadly accept such alternative credentials rather than ask for formal degrees.

The best investment we make as a company is in training and skill development. I hope companies do this widely so we don't strand young people in debt.

ಇಂದು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಕಲಬುರಗಿಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮಟ್ಟದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.

ಕಲಬುರಗಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಒತ್ತು ನೀಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಗ್ರಹಿಕೆಯ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ,
ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 1000 ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡುವ ಕುರಿತು ‘ನಕ್ಷತ್ರ‘ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು,
ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ‘ಸಿತಾರಾ ಅಕ್ಕ‘ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಮಾನವಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲದ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಗ್ರಾಮ ವಿಕಾಸ್ ಸೊಸೈಟಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಯಿತು.

Less than 15 minutes away from Indiranagar and adjacent to the well known HAL old airport. @BBMPofficial hundreds of houses in this area and complete neglect of these broken, dusty streets. Why is this standard normalised in our beloved Namma Bengaluru? Is this acceptable?

The passing of Dr. Jayant Narlikar is a monumental loss to the scientific community. He was a luminary, especially in the field of astrophysics. His pioneering works, especially key theoretical frameworks will be valued by generations of researchers. He made a mark as an institution builder, grooming centres of learning and innovation for young minds. His writings have also gone a long way in making science accessible to common citizens.
