Fucking cheek of it. Young have had so much taken away from them - can’t go find work in Europe, can’t afford a house, can’t afford education, no public spaces to hang out, kids growing up in poverty. The people who need to ‘give back to the communities’ is your thieving lot
Maybe, instead of National Service for 18 year olds they should introduce national service for MPs.
They all have to do several weeks volunteering in a school, GP, hospital, care home, social care and police within their first 12 months in office.
So just to get this straight. A minister tried to suffocate academic free speech with baseless accusations of extremism that she'd control-pasted from a Policy Exchange report. And then she had the temerity to charge the taxpayer for the inevitable libel case which followed.
my most feminist opinion is that mom should get as much leisure time as dad.
sure, you can go golfing on saturday.
she'll be going to brunch sunday for 5 hours 🤷🏻♀️
Full of apologies… full of deference… full of self deprecation and emojis so they don’t hate us. When will women in some of the most senior positions in the land be able to stop writing emails like this?
Genuinely gutted to hear this news. In reflecting with an ex colleague, I thought how Arthur taught me what strong academic leadership looked like. He set the benchmark that I can’t help but judge others in similar roles against. I’ll remember my time working with him fondly.
This is James, Arthur's son, writing on behalf of the Burns family. In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Arthur died peacefully in his sleep, at home, with his loved ones close by. He had been ill for the past three years, but faced his cancer with enormous courage and stoicism
@ABurns_History So sorry to hear this. I worked with Arthur while he was VD Edu at @kingsartshums He was a fierce advocate for arts and humanities, a champion for his colleagues and forged new paths on research-led teaching. I learned a lot from working with him. I’m very sorry for your loss.
