@BrianBirming The HackerNews discussion on this had mentions of people being hired purely to be assigned a low rating, allowing a team to stay together.
If "developing" is a 2, what is, and happens to, a 1?
@Luos_83 The more effort it takes to understand what is being offered, the shittier the offer likely is.
This first mention of NFT is on the final paragraph, they clearly have 0 confidence in the actual thing being a selling point.
@Lazy_Solutions@KenneyNL Sure, how do you reconcile the performance difference between C# and C++ then? It doesn't matter if you cede the bleeding edge market of course, but it's nice to aim for that as a 'halo product', still.
@Lazy_Solutions@KenneyNL But Unity is built on C++, with a C# scripting layer. If people are mostly concerned with scripting layers, then it makes sense to implement the engine in whatever, and expose functionalities in ${funLang}
@we_arent_here@SgerbwdGwyn@SmashyNick Don't think that's a thing. There used to be BP Nativization, but that was scrapped recently.
There's a scripting language coming up called Verse though, which looks nice. UE C++ is like programming with guardrails too, for the most part.
@imjeremymccarty The net effect was they re-balanced their team. From people that build games and game engines, to people that have built tracking and spyware tools.
Shows what their plans for the future are.
So melee combat tracing - had to build a system to fill in a lot of blanks when animations play back at low FPS! Left is with the 'radial interpolation', right is without.
I feel like there's a better way around this :D

@Deus_Moon@UnrealDirective Would Common UI help your case? It lets you set a default template for certain interface elements, from what I can tell, so you can remove the button once and be done with it.
@chriswade__@FireplantGames What about a super class that you can override? Chances are, most you wouldn't need to override, so you would have the one 'true' implementation, and a few bastardised ones around.
@einar_art Good stuff as always!
I remember looking for references for Niflheim (ice and fog, can't be beaten!), and found your HAMR #7 piece.
The tone and setting are so inspiring, it really tells a story by itself. Love it :)
Update: the breakage seems to be restricted to the one enemy character, the others ragdoll as expected. Gotta figure out what's wrong with this one in particular I guess, but this definitely didn't happen in EA2.
So not 100% sure, but I think the ragdoll behaviour may be slightly different in Preview 1. EA2 was never great, mind you, but this is... intense.

@gamefromscratch@DeezyLabs You've fallen for their tricks! They're making it so that you're reflexively accepting it, and unfortunately it's pretty effective.
Need a browser extension that auto rejects the optional ones, or a browser setting that automatically deals with the popups.
@JoppeMin Microsoft are a professional company, they won't go "oh yeah, we'll fire Bobby after 6 months lol". He's employed there for a bit still!
Acquisitions are drawn out and there is a lot of enforcement of the two companies operating as distinct entities till completion.
@ambershee@Luos_83 Sure, but you can stream the mainline titles to your phone and play with a controller.
Wonder what the strategy for mobile Diablo is when they suddenly can just stream full Diablo to phones instead.
