Neither price includes labour.

@Squirrel4peanut @Neondancer I had a 535d. The engine never missed a beat. After 12 years, the “lifetime” oil in the gearbox was clearly in need of replacement. And most of the rubber seals on the car had began to deteriorate.

But that is rare, and can be repaired.

Plus, the more EVs there are, the more viable a third party battery repair business is.
