@RWSstudios Like most journalism companies IGN relies on paid endorsements.
I couldn't give two craps about what these outlets have to say about a game because I try what I like regardless and for the most part the reviews are almost always wrong.
@Rederdex @Hatem_Elerwi @humble Yeah that's about it. Lack cheevos and time tracking does it for me. I only use Steam and GOG, so I see no point adding more launchers to my list.
@CunderThunt2@MckKirk@penswordbooks@IOInteractive@Hitman You make a good point. If it's considered stealth, it definitely deserves to be in a book about stealth games - but I'm sure another game could've used the spot in the back cover.
@ajnspencer@MckKirk@penswordbooks@IOInteractive@Hitman I see. Glad you enjoyed it, unfortunately I had a different experience. Thief Gold just set the ceiling so high that 'line-of-sight' stealth alone wont cut it for me anymore.
Maybe I played it wrong? Been wanting to give it another shot
@MckKirk@penswordbooks@IOInteractive@Hitman I'm sure, you're covering the history of stealth after. Was only commenting about Dishonored being on the cover. Definitely gonna pick it up tho.
@MckKirk@penswordbooks@IOInteractive@Hitman MGS, Thief, Splinter Cell, Deus Ex; now those are some good stealth titles. But I guess Dishonored sells because it's more popular with the modern audience. Good luck with your book!
@MckKirk@penswordbooks@IOInteractive@Hitman Dishonored is a bad example of a stealth game, sure it has good mechanics but I think thief should be sitting on that cover instead.
@anthonyshyper I loved the first, and I loved the sequel. Funny thing is, the sequel dropped right after I watched the first. That was no coincidence, god wanted me to watch it.
@gpowerf There are so many versions of this game, even community source ports that manages to push its limits with mods. I think it still plays pretty well, interesting control scheme too - tank controls + parkour. Works well for what it is.
